But it's not an exception, it's a massive group.0 -

Well if it's the same as people in their 30's using the internet it's not going to be an exception to the rule!JimmyTheWig wrote: »The very reason that "silver surfers" have a name is that they are notable.
The notable reason being age not numbers.0 -

Do you have to have a sign?
Let me see. Situation 1 - big sign saying "Customers with 10 items or fewer". No problem I won't queue there.
Situation 2 - I queue up to use the self-scan, and when I get to the front of the queue I get told I have to go to another till.
Hmm, I wonder which makes more sense.0 -
Now what if they don't mind you going there unless it's busy? Are they allowed to speak to you then? Because a sign won't work when you have a system that may change if it's busy.0

I don't give a damn whether they speak to me or not. What I want is clear and unambiguous information before I have wasted my time either queueing or walking from one end of the tills to the other.0

Ohh top tip (lol) especially aimed at men who have tons of coins in their wallets and no room - use these machines to get rid of your change, I got rid of £4 of silver by putting all my coins in the machine last week :rotfl:
i do the same, i get rid of my coppers there, i had alot of them but i take some to tesco and get rid of them that way0 -
i dont use the self service tills in supermarkets - i am paying for someone to process my shopping wether or not i put it through myself or someone else does it for me.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0

I don't use the self service
because I am one of those oh-so-self-righteous people who like to think they are employing 'some' of the masses by going to a till with a payed person on it.
Do I sound priggish?
Me too. Sod it I'm getting old enough to not care what I sound like too.0
