Freezer been switched off / door left open - will food be ok?

    This happened to me last week, ds had been in getting ice creams and not shut it properly. I ended up throwing the chicken and pies out but kept the other things.

    If not really defrosted i'd keep everything bar ice cream.

    What about fish fingers with them being little and likely to defrost quickly?
  • I'd bin fish fingers. Fish tends to go off more even easily than meat.

    We had the same problem this week! Everything at the front of the freezer got cooked and eaten or binned. Luckily everything at the back hadn't defrosted, so we managed to save a lot.

    went away on friday at 10am, come back sunday (today) at 3pm to find the MIL had kindly flicked off all our kitchen appliances for us; yes that included the fridge freezer :(
