Caseroles and stews are good for freezing chicken. If you don't want to bake from scratch have a look at the packet caserole mixes. They will give you enough sauce each to go over 4 pieces easily (probably 6) and can then be frozen as single portions to do with mash and veg or something at a later date. Passata/chopped tomato sauces are nice for chicken and pasta. I tend to dice the chicken up and dry fry and then do the sauce in another pan and just poor over before portioning up, if I'm doing a lot of them. Either that or just do the chicken in the oven and then make some gravy to freeze it in.This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Why don't you cook some of the breasts, and when cooled chop into smaller pieces, and put into meal size bags .
You could than defrost a bag when you need it for say Kebabs , curries, stir fries , etc. Also carve some into slices to use in sandwiches & salads .
Im gutted for you , its happened to me more than once :mad:0 -

I think if it was me I would just cook all the chicken breasts etc whole and freeze them then add the sauces etc when you need them. should save some money for now.
Did you check your contents insurance you may be able to get money back0 -
Went to the freezer a few minutes ago and noticed the drawers were covered with white powdery ice - they were not like this last night, plus all the food is covered in the same ice
The ice cream only had a little bit left in and that had melted so I have binned that- the rest seems frozen just cover in ice!!
Last time I went in it was about 6pm last night
Question is do i need to bin everything high risk e.g chicken etc
Thanks in advance0 -
Any meat products, if it's gone soft I'd bin it. Vegetables, it'd depend on how thawed out they were. It should only be the things at the front affected anyway if only slightly left ajar.0

Let the meat thaw out and cook it, then you can have it cold.
Make a big veggie soup...... can you claim on your insurance?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -
Thanks for your response, not a huge amount in there so not worth claiming but would rather not bin if didn't have to but do not want to risk food posioning :eek:0

To be honest Ive done the same thing loads of times and apartt from binning the obvious (ice cream and items clearly marked don't refreeze) Ive bunged everything back in and eaten it as normal. Probably not the right thing to do but none of us have suffered!!0

Meat should be fine as long as it is still mainly frozen if its more than a third defrosted i would thaw it properly then cook it. You can refreeze once cooked. My kids are forever not closing the door properly on the freezer so had it lots of times :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

If meat has started defrosting.. cook it and refreeze
