Rascals Nursery World, St Helens - gone bust

my daughter paid rascals £383(cash) in aug 08 for her pram and was told it would be in store the first week in october, she is due to have her baby in 4/5 weeks, it is a babystyle pram, do u think baby style would have her pram on order from rascals or would it not have even been ordered,????????? what do u think trading standards could do?????????
We contacted BabyStyle and they agreed to send our pram out direct to us - I wasn't clear whether this was our actual order, or more likely, they just have a chunk of orders from Rascals sitting in the factory and they sent one to us.
As I understand, it takes months to process a pram order - the fact that they were able to send it next day indicates to me that Rascals had actually placed the orders. The pram we ordered was a limited edition one so it's likely that this was the actual Rascals order.
Your best bet is to ring Babystyle and explain the situation, have to hand the dates and details of your order. There's a good chance your order is sitting at Babystyle waiting to be sent to Rascals and you can get it direct.
As for your money, you'll have to pay Babystyle again for your pram - as you paid the money to Rascals and not Babystyle. You must contact trading standards to get your details passed onto the liquidators to try and get some money back - although I think the chances of this are slim as the banks are likely to be first in line for the money.0 -
On another note, we received a letter from Rascals yesterday, confirming that they'd gone bankrupt due to ill health and the current financial crisis.
The letter advises customers to contact St Helens Trading Standards, who are working with liquidators to figure out the company's assets. Rascals say they have passed the details of customers with outstanding orders to Trading Standards.
You must contact Trading Standards ASAP if you want any hope of getting any money back.0 -

hi all - i have a baby shop not to far from rascals in st helens - i am not affiliated in anyway however. They are one of 3 independant stores that i know of that have gone bump in the last few weeks alone. One of which that was a very large store in two locations which i believe went on monday....
Anyhow - my reason for posting is that I currently have 3 or 4 Babystyle pram systems in my store room that have been ordered and since delivery to me have been cancelled or put on hold as my customers are feeling the pinch too and have either got no money now to pay for the pram - we have had to find suitable cheaper options! - or have paid such a small deposit that they are willing to forgo it rather than pay off the balance - possibly because they found it 20 pounds cheaper on the net - possibly from one of the stores that have since gone bump! sorry.... - I am happy to try and help as many customers as possible - either by discounting the systems to offset what they have paid to rascals as much as possible - or by sourcing an alternative product that meets your needs at a far cheaper price. I'm not saying that i am going to supply for free - i'd like to be here in the long run too! - but will try and help as many as i can - if you need help or even a number and contact for babystyle or other suppliers then please feel free to conatct me by personal message and i will call you asap or drop you a mail with availbility etc - cher and good luck to you all - allie x0 -
Hi
Is anyone aware of a shop selling baby goods- prams - clothes etc
Based in Leigh.
Its not long since RASCAl'S of St Helens went bust leaving hundreds of people without their cash and without their goods.
They were based in Leigh and St Helens (MMM).
And now in the same location in Leigh a new shop has popped up called
"LITTLE RASCALS" (Sounds Dodgy)
Be Careful maybe mr Lewis could find out more.:money:0 -
