butter milk biscuits? halve it obviously.
For the biscuits
• 225g/8oz!plain flour
• 225g/8oz!self-raising flour
• 1 tbsp!baking powder
• 1 tsp!bicarbonate of soda
• 225g/8oz!butter, cut into cubes
• 200m/7fl oz!buttermilk, plus extra for glazing
• pinch!sea salt
• butter, for spreading
1. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6.
2. For the biscuits, mix the flours, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda in a food processor until smooth and well combined.
3. Add the butter and pulse 3-4 times in the food processor.
4. Pour the mixture into a large bowl and gradually beat in the buttermilk, mixing until just combined.
5. Flour a work surface and roll the dough out to about 2cm/1in thick.
Cut into 6cm/2½in circles and brush with more buttermilk, sprinkle with a little sea salt and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden-brown. Remove theOpinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0 -

Soda Bread...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/irishsodabread_67445
See what they say about shaping it..ignore it!Once you've made it,make into a round & cut into quarters, then cook until done. Then cut the round into quarters, cut a quarter in half then fry in butter till golden.Serve with a fried egg & baked beans. That's my fave way of eating them,or you could fry two halves & slam a load of crispy bacon between the halves!0 -

I don't think the kind of milk matters
I use yogurt, the thinner cheap kind works better than the Greek styles
I fancy some soda bread myself now0 -
