Hi all
The most frustrating experience ever!
My daughter sent her application off in the first week of September (this after about 5 requests for an application form!) and has heard nothing. I know there are major problems (about 162,000 applications that haven't been processed).
I phoned on Monday and was told her application wasn't on the system yet "but we have received it". Not quite sure how they would know this. They're supposed to have a database showing what was received and when so applicants who have applied within 28 days of their course starting don't miss out, but they can't tell me anything about her application, when it might be in the system, when it might be processed or when she might get some money. The poor kid is doing two jobs at the moment to cover her bus and train fares to college. Not that working will hurt her, but she's so tired.
Has anyone else's child applied for EMA, and how long did it take to get sorted, or are you still waiting to hear?

DS2 applied at the end of July & he didn't hear anything until the second week of September when he got confirmation that his application had been received & then he received his notice of entitlement at the beginning of last week & so should get his first payment tomorrow.
Hope your daughter hears something soon!0 -
DD applied at the end of June and received her first payment about 10 days ago - she started college on the 1st September so about three weeks late!
My friend was saying her dd has't had hers yet and no sign of it - not sure when she applied but she didn't go for the interview until after her GCSE results came out so I'm thinking it was quite late.0 -
My dd sent her form in about the middle of august and is still waiting for her's haven't heard anything back when i rang up was just told applications were being dealt with and would be backdated0

My Daughter applied in June and received a confirmation in the middle of August. She has been paid twice so far.
She won't be getting anything this week though as she had to have last Friday off and if you miss one day you miss a whole week's money~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My son applied in June and only got his infomation sent back last week and still no award letter or payments. Very frustrating and not really good enough service.Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.0
