Yes, that is the same one that is on my link..? liteonit.com is the global Liteon website? Not sure what you're getting at.0 -

Thanks for your link as it has the European models.
What I am saying is that Comet are selling a Proline model that looks exactly like the new Liteon model which as far as I know isn't available in the UK yet. So is the Proline manufactured by Liteon and is it the same spec?0 -

I wouldn't be surprised if the Proline one is the same model with a different badge on the cover (although I note that it does not play DivX). Liteon also make DVD recorders for Sony and other big name brands (e.g. my LVW-5006 is a Sony with a different badge on the front).0 -

"not Multi-Region as the title suggests but R2 only ... uses DVD+ media [only]"

I've never seen a multi-region player that doesn't say region 2 only on the box and manual, this is because they are region 2 machines that have been either shipped to the retailer with no region set, or the retailer have made them multi-region.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Anybody notice that there is a HDD dvd recorder at Lidl next week for £150?
It is analogue, not freeview, but still a bargain for a 160gb hard disk recorder.0 -
Guess this review of the aparatus might be of interest.
It is taken from the Amazon WebSite:

Well i was one of the first ones to order one of these when it came onto the site and I would avoid it at all costs.
Firstly it is not Multi-Region as the title suggests but R2 only, the manual in the box also suggests that it is R2 only so where Amazon have got that it is Multi-Region is a mystery.
Secondly the Recorder uses DVD+ media, nowhere in the description does it even mention these.
I found these faults without even trying to record a DVD, needless to say I am in the process of trying to return it to Amazon (needless to say they don't seem to care about the players faults judging by the e-mail they sent me). I imagine there are more problems with it that I never got around to finding.
It may be the cheapest Recorder around but if i were you I would pay a tenner more and get something that actually works as advertised.

Regarding the Proline at Comet, it is a Liteon, but not the 1105 unfortunately, but the 1101 HERE which is a +R/RW only model, not + and -, and sadly does not appear to have Divx( MPEG4). There a three models that use the A4 stylish box, so dont judge a DVD by its box

I wonder if the person has actually tried a non-region 2 disc. As posted above multi-region players will still have printed on the box, machine and manual it is a region 2 player. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Took a surf to find out more about this DVD Recorder and found this comment at http://www.shopireland.ie/electronics/detail/B000CCW5NG/Inventive-DRW2033-DVD-Recorder-Silver/
Rating: (1 STAR) - Not Multi-Region for a start!
