that wasn't my pot of gold - mine wasn't so luxurious:rotfl: I had quite a few to do (6 teachers and 8 table decorations) so I was mean and didn't put a scratchcard in mine!

Mine normally buy the teachers something from Oxfam Unwrapped. I've helped out in school and I know the teachers get piles of stuff. They like the school related Oxfam gift as it means less priviledged children out there are really benefitting from their gift.

I did bags of gold as table decorations last year. I used gold coloured serviettes & put in each one a scratchcard (you can get ones with gold in their name) & a few gold choc coins and gold wrapped choc mints - I know some people put in ferrer rocher.
If the teacher has a sense of humour you could do chocolate covered raisins as reindeer poo! There's a poem on here somewhere to go with it.0 -
I've bought small ceramic bowls (cereal bowl size) from Whittard today for my pots of gold. The bowls were half price, £1.25 each and are in lovely colours - purple, green, blue or red (the inner bit is cream and the colour is on the outside of the bowl). Also got some Ferrero Rocher (sp????). Now need scratch cards (going to wait and get Xmas £1 ones) and chocolate coins! I've got gold cello to wrap the bowls in so they should look pretty good for not much £. Going to give them to DS1's teacher & classroom assistants (3 in all), one to my m&d (with 2 scratch cards) and one for the OH.
Thanks so much for the great idea

I think for men you can't beat a nice tin of Scottish shortbread (well my DH loves it & FIL).
Last time I was in M&S it was half price.0 -

As long as they don't win a million and quit teaching :rotfl:0 -
Thank you so much for the pot of gold idea. Ive been out and bought bits to make them up to use as place settings for the table on christmas day. they will look brilliant and save money as they will replace the table gift we usually have in our family.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0
