OK I need some help here!!
ds1 has a male teacher this year. He is in his 50's (am guessing!). I have no problem with what to make for the female teachers (last year I made pots of gold and may do that again this year, or snowman soup) but what do you make for a man?
Any suggestions gratefully accepted!!
TIA

Bunbun could you do a flannel cupcake but in a glass like I did on the other thread? or maybe a nice whisky glass and a whisky miniature?
I haven't even thoght that far in advance yet, however my son's teacher is female and probably around the same age as me so I might look into putting together a small pamper hamper of some kind.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

some homebaked biscuits in cello, or a nice leather 2009 diary? Would be very useful for a teacher. And I'm sure a pot of gold would be just as nice for a man - thinking of doing one for DH at Xmas. Otherwise, a selection of local chutneys or something similar, or one of those "beers of the world" sets maybe. And teachers + tea = happiness. A nice mug with some biscuits and a box of posh tea bags or exotic coffee?

PS- whittard do some lovely sets of different tea and coffee, and you could obviously knock some up yourself for less money if you have the time. They also have this - http://www.whittard.co.uk/store/catalogue/Gifts-P1000/Tea-Gifts-SC1006/Christmas-Leaf-Tea-214122.raa0

How about a large mug and some snowman soup?
Facts in a jar?
Jokes in a jar?
Exam questions in a jar?
Twinks hob nobs in a jar? (Shaz has posted a cranberry and chocolate version on the crafty for Xmas thread - think that's the right thread!)
I think I've bought Christmas tea and coffee in M&S before. Could do one or the other with a mug and some biscuits?
Bunbun, what are pots of gold??? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Last year I made these with my 2 for the teachers at school, they all loved them even the male support worker:

I just changed the Kissmas back to Cristmas. I had to make 11 in all as DS2 was in the foundation unit but it only cost me about £7 for all the whisks and sweets. (Which I bought in Asda) I used sweets in foil wrappers which were all different colours.

Not sure what I'm going to do this year as I think all the teachers saw them last year as I had them asking were I had got the idea from and how I made them.....
The Pots of gold sound good can anyone tell me what they are and how to make ???

Going off on a tangent, this talk of Xmas pressies reminds me of when I was a kid in infants (many moons ago) and my Mum gave me a Xmas present to take in for my teacher (a lady cant remember her name, think it was Miss lol). Imagine my horror when she opened it and it was a nighty. All the kids couldnt stop laughing and I didnt know what to do and started crying. What I didnt realise was that once a week they used to have a craft afternoon at the school to make things for the bazaar etc and my Mum used to come and my teacher used to go too while we were doing PE so they knew each other and she had asked my Mum for a nighty lol.
Cant think of what else to add for male teacher apart from doing something with hankerchiefs? Maybe wrap some sweets in one? and cellor ove the top?0 -
thanks for all the replies. apparently this teacher is very laid back but he scares me a bit:rotfl: He seems a very old school teacher and is the deputy head!saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
