I think I saw the one which you were talking aout in York. I got excited when I saw 'Pound World' (or words to that effect). But upon closer inspection it had been gutted and had the builders in!! :'(0

Exactly the same thing happened to me a few weeks back. Picked up some very nice Christmas lights and was told they were actually £6 or something and even then you could only buy them if you spent over a certain amount in the shop.
Yet all over the shop there are signs that say 'don't ask the price, everything is £1'.

Things such as extension leads and cables that poundland sells are absolutely fine. They are products maufactured to standard specifcations and are in most cases actually the same product from the same factory as a branded item which has been labelled by the distributor.stay lucky!
