Oh my word.
I've just found this shop in a local high street. It's fab. Cut through the junk and there are some real bargains to be found.
I'd just been in Boots, mooching around to gain points, then went into Poundland. The difference was amazing, I couldn't believe everything was only £1! Obviously some no-go buys but for cleaning products and a lot of toiletries e.g. Dove, brilliant
It may have been mentioned before but I've never found one near me, I have now, whoopee!

I think the name of the place is a dead give-away0 -
I have to agree. I have been in there and some things you would not buy however there are some real bargains.
There are many branded items. My kids will be pleased with all the great stocking fillers found there.
It has also got a large amount of christmas decorations as well.
Great place. Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

went to a £ shop in Pwllheli, north wales, called just a pound fantastic stuff, 4 way extension leads £1 same as woolworths ones, umbrella's an really nice wicker baskets to do hampers, after being in poundland in birkenhead the difference was amazing much better quality than the big £1. shopsa please & thank you is all it takes :wave:0

So would you REALLY connect electrical appliances to a piece of equipment sold for £1 ?. Given that they have to make a profit, the item concerned can only be made of poor quality materials and then, you connect items to it within your house.
I wonder, were there to be a fire god forbid, and you said to your insurance company, "oh, I used a four gang appliance connector and it must have been alright because it cost me a £1 "This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've bought 6 way extension leads from there and scart leads and they're brilliant.
Lots of DIY stuff as well, like Cuprinol wood stain.0 -

Superpound by Argos sometimes has some good things though eh? Personally, I can't stand going in Poundland in Birkenhead, it's too hectic! If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -

sometimes the goods come from other well known stores my hubby bought some roof felt nails from there, they were actually from homebase, there are usually games console accessories ie gameboy multilinks desktop chargers battery packs all buy the same make that is being sold in the local high street games shops admittedly there is also rubbish but its also fun looking to find a real bargain0 -
island_man,
you will notice that I said I'd brought the same from woolies, at £4.99 so does that mean that their's was crap an unsafe or er I saved £3.99 when I took the same extension back an used the identical product from the £ shop derrrrrrrrrrrrrr think I'll stick with my "moneysaving"a please & thank you is all it takes :wave:0 -
Reading this thread reminded me of something that happened when I first ventured into my local Poundland in its opening week.Wherever you looked there were signs that said"Everything a pound","Dont ask its all a pound" and "Yes everything is a pound" etc.I am checking out the goods and I hear a loud womans voice behind me calling out to her husband/boyfriend" Hey Wayne ow much doo yoo fink this is",and Wayne answered "ow the f**ck should I know"
Brilliant.
