What I would do with that site is set up a website that actually provides the service of listing/reviewing the best Irish banks that are available, then approach banks and get em to cough up some moola to be part of the directory. If done right it could be a right little earner. (if you have the time to put the work in that is)."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Ok I have just done a search for "best irish banks" on Google (without the quotes). This returned "Results 1 - 10 of about 587,000 for best irish banks. (0.19 seconds)".
If you want a good chance of selling the domain then you need to get it above most of those results if not all. As well as high up on other similar searches.
In my opinion a holding page is not going to do it you will definatly need relevant content to drive visitors to the domain. Also if you place adverts on your site it is in your intrest to attract more visitors.
As a domain on its own you will probably be lucky to get much more than £50 I would be surprised if you could get anymore than £200 and thats if you was able to find a buyer. As an active site with good rankings regular visitors and advertising revenue it could be worth more to someone. Although whether or not it will be worth enough to cover the costs of your time in establishing and managing the site is hard to say.
Whatever you do be it a holding page, an auction or an active site it will probably take you a couple of years to find a buyer anyway.
You need to think of it from the point of view of the buyer they are only going to buy it if they think they can make back more money than it costs them.0 -
You're not going to get that domain anywhere near the top SE results without spending money buying back links.
The value of the domain would easily be calculated for you by any of the websites that offer such services.
As an investment opportunity, I am afraid you'd have more luck putting your old LPs on ebay.Rocky.0 -
