Don't pay late payment charges - I don't!

I estimate another 2 years of these charges - the OFT are already including these bank charges into their investigation of the credit card charges, which they gave a deadline to the top 8 credit card companies to sort it out themselves, or they [the OFT] would start legal proceedings against them.
If there is an annual fee for a credit card, then surely that is fairer - even if you don't use the card that money has to be allocated to you, meaning they can't use it themselves.
It seems M Thompson would rather penalise people least able to afford it to subsidise his 'free' credit card. Nice attitude.0 -

Oh right,
Just as nice as the attitude of people who call up a bank and tell porkie pies like the first poster on this thread to get the charges reversed even when they know it was their own fault, making it less likely that banks will be sympathetic when people do have a genuine case to get charges reversed like loss of job, loss of relative or a divorce etc.0 -

It's noy very often i agree with M Thompson, but he's right here. Like i previously posted, people who are lazy and then lie when they get charged cost us all money, wether it be account charges, higher interest rates or yearly fees. If you get charged due to your own stupidity be a man (or woman) and take it on the chin like most of us do.:santa2:0 -

He phoned up to get the illegal penalties refunded.
The contention is that the banks are in breach of the Law of Contract.
They should not inflict these penalties on anyone.
I do not condone the lying.
Still less do I condone the illegal penalties if such they are.
This is not financial advice..0 -

If it is alright to take money illegally from stupid people few of us of us would be safe...0 -
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the first poster lying - he said to Barclaycard that the charges were not enforcable. That is the truth not a lie.0

If you get burgled, should you also take that on the chin like a man?
Of would you report it to the police in the vain hope that you may recover your goods, or at the very least get a payment from your insurance company.
I'm also not entirely sure where IQ comes into the equation.0 -

I was again referring to MORPH3US and not the OP..0 -

oh please. you signed a contract with the credit card company agreeing that you should be charged if you miss a payment date. simple as that. dont start complaining when you miss a date and get charged. and all this talk about it not being legal, if thats the case then fine, but YOU still signed the contract agreeing to the T&C!:santa2:0
