Ending Vodafone contract early - Think I can do it !!!
Comments

I would wait until the ninth month and offer them £135 to cancel your contract instead of the £360 that you would have to pay based on your current tariff. This figure is taken from their lowest pay monthly tariff of £15.
I can't really see you being able to get out of the contract without paying money at all.
PS. You could try and offer them a lower figure just to see if they'll accept.0 -
The lowest none promotional pay month tarif is £200

fsrandom - lowest non promotional rate is 0 minutes and unlimited texts at £15 per month.0

That's a promotional tarif ¬_¬0 -
Im not going to get into a tit for tat discussion regarding whats the cheapest promotional, non promotional rate (although it may make interesting reading for the viewers).
All the OP needs to do is to get onto the lowest possible tariff she can get next month and pay the remainding nine months based on the new rate.
Or the OP could just contact Vodafone next month and ask again how much it would cost to cancel as i'm sure that they would be well aware that she could reduce the tariff and I would guess that the figure would be alot lower without having to go through the messy process of changing it.0 -
Vodafone have now stopped offering me incentives to stay and have actually realised that I want to leave.
They have now offered to reduce my bill to £ 20.00 a month which some of you suggested might happen and also reduce my contract from 18 months to 15 months which I wasnt expecting. Goes to show persistance pays off !!
Have advised all this to Citizens Advice who think I have a very good case for getting it cancelled completely so will wait and see what they say. If it's a no go then will take Vodafone up on their offer.
Thanks to all for your advice0 -
I have to disagree. In my entire time working for a mobile network (over 2 yrs) I have never once seen anyone permitted to cancel their account exceptionally early without having to pay an early termination fee.
Yes, the T&Cs state you can cancel if they do not do what they have to do under the agreement or all of the services are no longer available to you. Problem is, they are doing their end of the contract, and all of the services are available to you. The phone is not faulty, neither is the sim card. It is possible for you to use your phone - the T&Cs will also state that they do not have to provide coverage in 100% of the country 100% of the time ie there can be black spots, so long as the phone/sim work in a majority of places. This majority of places does not have to include your home.I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.0
