I use simmering granules and they leave a gorgeous smell in the room. You need one of them pots to put the simmering granules in and a tealight underneath.
Theres a brand name of Ancient Wisdom and they are the best I have ever had, I have had other cheaper ones but they do not keep the smell as long.
They have many fragrances and im sure there will be something that you like.

Also for smokers to get rid of smoke smell in the car try Ambi Pur, the anti tobacco one, its brilliant. Cheaper versions are available but they do not work as good in my opinion.

    Absolutley spot on!

I am a smoker too, but i do have respect for anyone that does'nt smoke so i would'nt smoke in a non smoking home either.
Just like you, Helen21 i smoke in the kitchen and the kids are forbidden to go in there.

We smoke but never in the house and I wouldn't dream of smoking in someone else's house too. I do have friends who smoke and I find it very hard lightin up indoors.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

If you leave a saucer of vinegar (what else!) in the room overnight in the morning the smell will be gone. To get any smell out of fabrics the good old bicarb and water spray will do the job.

From a good Car Shop or Visit a valeters and buy a perfume bomb for about a fiver
its an aerosol can that you activate and leave in a car for about 1-2hrs then open
all the windows for the rest of the day and after that its smells wonderful.

    £5.00 = Can = Sorted.

Anyone have any tips on getting rid of the smell of smoke in your house? I had a bit of a party here last night, and now my house smells like a dirty ash tray. Ive tried air freshner, but its just making the smell worse... thanks! xx

    Hi vik,

We have an older thread that might help you, so I'll merge your thread with it to keep all the replies together. Posts are listed in date order, so you'll need to read from the beginning to see all the replies.

  • I use the vanilla scented candles from Ikea (£1 each) they last for ages and give off a lovely scent.

As far as the car goes I would really clean it out with some hot water and lemon multi-surface cleaner and keep the windows open as much as possible.

    Good luck:D
