  • http://www.parcelbroker.co.uk has gone up to £7.99 for the 48hr service plus 15% vat. Just booked one and the total price is £9.19. Is anyone out there getting cheaper, please let me know as this is quite a hike!

are you for real, I work as a freight forwarding agent and I can tell you that this year has been really hard. , fuel surcharges this year was up to 20% and currency surcharges for exports were being charged at 7%, and now you moan that a box may go up from from £6-£8. I think £8 is a fair price to pay myself.

    Paul
I don't think peoples gripe will be with re-sellers or brokers as they know if the courier companies put their prices up they will have to pass them on.

Is Directparceldistribution still with Fedex as I noticed that they offer European deliveries with the DHL?

Yes. I don't think FedEx's U.K network is good enough at the moment.

As far as I know these are all Shafi:

    parceltree.co.uk - down
wigidispatch.co.uk - down but will be back, possibly with UPS too
    rainbowparcels.co.uk
    parcelone.co.uk
    parcelcheap.co.uk
    smartparcels.co.uk

How sure are we on this? Someone has told me who should know what they're on about that wigi was using Shafi, but not anymore. From what I can see, they are shafi!

What do you think is wrong with FedEx than?

We've been using FedEx for a couple a weeks now and few observations which might be of interest.
    • Your first pick up may fail
    • The ANC operation which they took over needs a lot of attention, drivers don't even have scanners
    • The tracking in the U.K is pants, but catches up once it reaches destination country
    • Delivery time is excellent however, 3 days to the States
    • Customer service is also top notch, far superior than DHL
This is obviously through DPD and works very well for Europe and Int. but at the moment I can't see how it would work for domestic services. But it is good news someone wants to muscle in with DHL on the re-selling stakes.

It was fine for us, and is probably fine for all businesses. But for one offs for domestic addresses it's probably more hassle than it's worth.

Edit: do know anyone else offering fedex?

Oh yes, sorry. I didn't understand it.

I don't, I'm afraid. If you are looking for international deliveries with Fedex as far as I heard they don't want resellers in their international services. It is quite difficult to find services to US at competitive prices.
