Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread MK3

First thing I would say is phone Paul Harrison and I'm sure he'd resolve it very quickly. If you want me to PM you his number let me know. The hard line on credits and 'waiting on a decision from our director' does also sound classic Yevette, of whose interpersonal skills have yet to be discovered.
I would also say that your first post was one that was straight in slating a company, normally I would question the validity and motives but I can of late see where you might be coming from....
This is probably my fiercest criticism I've ever made of PPW, but we have had a bad week ourselves- failed collections Monday and today and not great work picking up the picking up the pieces either. Plus a few fails on the previous weeks, which is more than we've had in the 6 months combined we've been using them. But certainly the problem stems from DHL, it's just whether they have gone the extra mile to sort/prevent avoidable problems
FAO Everyone aswell:
As I mentioned on the previous thread it will be all change on the courier market for any agent that uses DHL, prices will be going up to around the £8 mark at a guess. So there is no point making any hasty decisions on who to use and where to go. Apart from rates going up I suspect this will also thin out the competition- which could be good and bad.
My predictions and advice would be that if you are sending less than 100/ parcels a month Prepaid Parcel Worldwide Express (I'm sure their current booking problems will be sorted) and Express Packages Deliveries
If you are sending higher volumes you're much better placed to smooth out this increase. As mentioned above Sale Track provide one option, as do Freight Search, It's also worth mentioning Express Packages Deliveries have some scope for discount if the volume is there.
Both Sale Track and Freight Search use DHL, but as they are not re-sellers their prices are not being affected. Instead it is like having your own account with DHL, meaning 'you' book the parcels and can do so right up in till the driver arrives. The advantage of which I do not need to go into.
In summary small volumes stick to simple resellers PPW, EPD etc. larger business users have a look at a more professional solution that the likes of Freight Search and Sale Track provide.
This is my advice based on my experience and understanding of the current situation.

Update: Well disappointed, I appreciate no guarantees but DHL have left WWP and myself down. To say to WWP that it will be delivered yesterday, instead it sat in a depot all day, then deliver it today is out of order. 3 days for a 24 hr delivery slot? I would rather pay less and be told it would take 3 days and get there when they said it would. Its a small package but its the inconvenience. My feedback with CS at WWP is that they were apologetic but i also said its not really their fault as they are 3rd party. So no real issues with WWP but as I said DHL let them and me down. Take what you will. I will try another company to see their results but it seems all a bit hit and miss.

I have also say and don't mean to be patronising at all, that well done for acknowledging its not WPS fault. So many people come on slating agents when in reality once the parcels is booked they like the customer are just a passenger.
If you want to try a non DHL agent have a look at Express Packages Deliveries0 -
