Hi everyone,
After some helpful advice from one of the lovely people on here (am really sorry but can remeber their name) as to how to assemble the SS I finally made my first snowman soup last nite!
And I have to say it looked pretty good (pics to follow). Only one dissapointment was the gift tag - really struggled to make it professional looking. All I could manage was buying gift tags and printing the SS poem onto labels (in black ink only sadly as I don't have a colour printer at work) then sticking the label inside and onto the gift tag.
However, I came across a snag tho, I seemed to use an awfully lot of hot choc on each one? Am sure there was well enough in there for 2! I wonder if it would look silly and too small if I actually added the specified( normally 2,3 or 4 heaped teaspoons I think)amount to each cone?
I bought 50 cello cones so I've got enough cones to make 25. I would of made more but I ran out of both hot choc and choc chips. Plan on giving some to friends as xmas gifts this year as uber skintos, with some in a xmas mug wrapped in cello and some just on their on for people to supply their own mug. Got a few crafty nite things coming up end of the mnoth and dec to which im gonna be selling them so need to get cracking.
Anyone else have the prob of running of out hotc choc after making like 2 cones?
Sorry if this has already been posted.0 -
I've started mine (was shocked at how much the cones were to buy) and am pleased with them although my parents don't seem to. I can't decide how to attach my candycane or where. Do i stick it with glue to the cone part, tie it with ribbon at the top where it flaps around a bit, or something else? Im not sure how to start doing the tags either!
Stefd- I ended up using about 8 heaped tea spoons in mine as i thought it looked better, the amount for one mug would of looked tiny in mineBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

I have tied it to one end of the ribbon, with the label on the other end, but then have stuck it to the cone with a bit of sellotape half way down to make it more secure0

I know! My parents were the same altho in my mums defense she thought they were good but my dad thought they were a waste of money. With my candy canes all I done was attach it to the bottom end of the cone part as close to the pointy tip at the bottom as possible with sellotape.
Yeah thats what I thought too. I can always say that the hot choc makes up two servings. Will just stick with more rather than less.

I'm using magic stars as I got a few bags as part of the 2 for £2 mini bars at halloween.
I have also bought some small marshmallows from boots - they are star shaped and were 3 for 2 £2.00 per bagIt's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -
well I made my 1st one today and i think it looks pretty good. i used smashed up choc buttons and the marshmellows are pink and yellow as there where no white left. but will go to asda tom and see what they have. mine have 10 tea spoons in (it said 5per mug on packet) so there is enough for two drinks. need to make a lable with instructions and lable saying what it is! also need starers (some nice ones in the range) or canes. x0
