How much hot choc do you put into your snowman soups? I made a tester and it was enough choc to make 5 cups if not more!!

The directions on the tins say to allow 3 to 4 teaspoons per cup, so I decided to put in enough for 2 servings. When I measured it out, it came to the equivalent of a 1/2 cup using the American size measuring cups.

    Hi everyone,

I heart MSE and its forums and pretty much on it everyday! lol

This year I've decided to make gifts this year, the main 2 being snowman soup and pots of gold.

I am v confused as to how to assesmble the snowman soups! I have just ordered cello cones from ebay but need to know what else im going to need.
Am I right in thinking I need 3 seperate bags? 1 for the marshmallows, 1 for the chips and I one for the hot choc?

Should I be ordering a roll of cello for them to go in? Gaah! I always was rubbish at making things at school!

Any help would be very much appreciated for a uber newbie!

You need two cones per soup, put the chocolate powder so it fills up about half of one cone, then seal it and trim the excess cello off the top. Drop this into another cone, put a layer of choc chips/buttons on top, and then the marshmallows on top of that. Gather the top of the cone, tie with curling ribbon :) Hope this helps! Make sure you post pics when you're done, I'm sure they'll be great
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

  • Can somebody advise me.

The girl guides I help at are going to make some of these nearer to Christmas - not that they know it yet :)

I think I've read every page on this thread and I'm still confused about what size bags to use. I've just drawn out a bag the size of the medium cello bags, 14.5" x 7". This seems huge. In the photos on here the finished article looks quite slim.

What size bags do I need?

    Can't wait to do these

I used the lakeland icing bags and I thought they looked huge before I put the stuff in them but as soon as they filled up they looked fine.

    Hiya Claire Bear,

Many Thanks for the reply. I really appreicate it!

Ahh right I see so that's how its done! :T Excellent no need for me to buy any more stuff then. :j

I got some curling ribbon free with the cones (altho now you've said I'll need 2 per cone I'll prob need to order more!) so just wating on that to arrrive and buy the ingredients, get the tags sorted.

I will defo post up pics once their done - hopefully first two weeks in Nov!

  • A question for those of you that have sold these on at fairs etc. Did you have to put any disclosure on the back of the label such as may contain nuts etc

I am making some for our school fair and want to make sure I do it right to avoid any allergy issues?

    Thanks
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice
