i made some snowman soup with big marshmallows as i couldn't find the mini ones anywhere. they were sold at the school fayre for £1.50 each and all 10 sold within 3 mins of the fayre opening the ladies who sold them told me that they could have easily got £2 each for them.
I wasn't planning on making any more but the corner shop got in mini marshmallows so i couldn't resist. i made my own cello cones witha bag sealer. took me a wee while to get the hang of it but once i figured out the size of cello square i needed to start with there was no stopping me. i managed to produce 14 cones in about an hour. i made 30cm by 25cm rectangle that ifolded into an almost triangle shape the result was uniform sized cones all be it a big fatter and shorter than the cones i got from ebay. i hope to get on some pics later. i am giving these ones as gifts. i added 25g of choc chips and 25g of marshmallows.
thanks so much for the idea i am definately planning on making these next year too.

Rusty - Those tags are fab!! Put my homemade efforts to shame, they look really professional.
  • I eventually ended up making my Snowman soups tonight. Bought some Sainsburys hot chocolate thinking I was being very MSE but it was total false economy. I sampled a cup and it was awful so I sent Hubs back up there to buy some Cadburys.

  • Ive made mine and they look great apart from the hot chocolate mix has moved and got all over the marshmellows. They dont look so good now. Is there anything i could have done to have stopped this happening?

You could have used 2 cello cones, the first one put in your hot chocky mix, tie with curling ribbon or similar trim the top off and slot that inside another cone then add chocky chips and marshmallows, this will stop the hot chocky mix moving and mixing.

Shelley they look fab and I love the welsh words on there!!! Well done :)

My effort. Unfortunately I could only get coloured marshmallows lol But I don't think they look too bad :D Still need to add the candy canes which are behind them lol.

Thanks Rainmac, he is useful for some things ;)

I am sure he will for next year ;) ... the ones I have used had to be printed on A3 paper as A4 was too small but he did them at work for me ;)
