  • I ordered my cone bags from Vanda on Friday and recieved them today.
She left me feedback a day or two ago too.
  • right i am starting to make my snowman soup for the school fair next week,
could some-one help out with the measurements of the contents please!

how much powder are you using per cone?
    how much in choc chips?
    how many marsh mallows?
and does it matter that i have coloured marsh mallows as all the shops have sod out of the white ones.

i am only asking as i made one last night and it looks a bit puney so i dont think i put enough of everything in.

    many thanks

Powder - I used Dairy milk, which said 3 heaped teaspoons per serving, so I used 6 heaped in the cone. (One standard tub made just over 3 cones)

Choc chips - I used 1/3 of an Asda bag. Have chucked out the wrapper so don't know what that weight is.

Marshmallows - I just chucked in so they made a thicker layer than the choc chips. It doesn't matter what colour the marshmallows are really.

Silly question BUT obviously in the snowman soup there is enough for two servings, do you think any normal person will realise this:confused: I can just imagine someone moaning to me that they made thick snowman Treackle :p

I will add later today, the following card to my snowman soup, slightly changing the wording that other people have used as you need to make mine up with milk and not water - I have also put 6 spoonfuls into each cone:

I was told you’ve been really good
this year, always glad to hear it.
    With freezing weather drawing near,
you'll need to warm the spirit.
So here’s a little Snowman Soup
complete with a stirring stick. Just
add hot milk to 3 teaspoons of chocolate,
sip it slow, it’s sure to do the trick.

Wishing you a very ‘Happy Christmas’.

2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000
  • i hate that rhyme on the tag,
so i just use the last bit of the poem...
    mine says
    "heres a little snowmans soup
    complete with stirring stick
add to hot water and sip it slow
its sure to do the trick"
and i put little snowman pics on it in powerpoint
  • Just to say I got my bags from Vanda today. I had paid last Friday night so took just under a week. I am so pleased as I don't know anywhere else to get them from. Just need to get some choc chips and marshmallows now as I have drinking chocolate and candy canes.

BTW I saw them in John Lewis today for £4.50 and they are not as nice as the ones on here. You don't even get a candy cane (I don't think you do anyway)!

  • wanted to pass on my experience.....when making the cones up I discovered that it REALLY is worth doing two cones, this was mainly because that the cocoa powder got everywhere & stuck to the sides due to the static - this made it look really mucky
