Snowman Soup Questions (merged)

I am loving all these threads on Christmas and at the very least I am going to put some Snowman Soup into my Christmas Eve hamper for my two boys and may also do them for my nieces & nephew. So I bought a jar of Cadburys instant hot chocolate that was a 'star buy' in Home & Bargains for 99p. They also had the stuff you mix with hot milk for the same price and the Galaxy versions also for 99p. The jar I got is 224g, no idea how many portions one will do.0

I have my cones from years ago when I was going to do snowman soup and never got round to it....
I ordered hot choc powder and mini marshmallows(will just eat the pink ones) from whittards today.
So im thinking I just need candy canes and either choc chips or m&m's/smarties???
and tags which i might just create myself with the cardmaking stuff I never got round to using
Only going to make a couple I think - oh and little sis - maybe a couple of token gifts for his family.....Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

Have just read through this thread and this one and the homemade Xmas 2010 one have inspired me to make lots of snowman soup [= - now just who to limit it down to xD
Bought all my bits the other day - has anyone used like square freezer type bags and then just cut them into triangles? Am going to try this but if it doesn't work then I will be off ordering cello cones [=

Sorry if it's already mentioned but how much cocoa powder does each one need? I am debating whether or not to do these. Also do you have to use choc chips or smatries, could you perhaps use broken choc bar pieces instead.
Thanks0 -
Grrrrr... I've just had my first attempt at snowman soup and it looks rubbish compared to the ones I've seen here
I just used enough ingredients for one mug (thought that made more sense) but the cones are too big so I had to trim them down, the candy cane is as big is the cone and it doesnt look as professional
Maybe I'm not good at this stuff after all0 -
