Wow - some really inspiring ideas.

We're also doing prezzy limits this year for the first time ever, and I'm actually quite excited about it!

I am looking forward to christmas more now too with the budget, makes it more interesting, and love to find a bargain, and its true, its the thought that counts.

ONLY 10 WEEKS TO GO!!!! YEAHHHHH! :j

Thank you for all your ideas, they are all great, keep them coming!!! Other people will benefit too. thanks again.

These are lovely and at great price. Where would I get the necklace bit? (jewellery making novice here ...)

You could always just buy a cheap pendant in Claires or somewhere like that and use the necklace bit from that, especially if you are going for a cord or ribbon style rather than a chain.
  • Thank you original poster for letting me know I'm not alone in the £10 budget stakes for a thrifty christmas, I'm nearly there! problem is now days there are so many people to buy for, I have fround a pretty good site called Salty Sams it has lots of stuff around the £7.99 mark, although it is limited to like boaty and nautical themed gifts, well worth a look, I sorted out my trendy neice and nephew with the camper van stuff on there for under a fiver!
Good luck everyone with all your saving and hard work

  • Hello

I dont know what skills you have but here are a few things I have done/plan to do

One small bottle of vodka (about £6) then add flavour, so cola cubes, werthers, etc to make flavoured vodka
Sew some crayson rolls for children, add some cheap crayons/pencils, colouring book etc.
i got a nice kilner jar and filled with some bird seed and decorated. this year i plan to make some bird feed moulds, i dont know how yet, but they look pretty when wrapped up and ribboned!
i made a breakfast in bed hamper thingy. a nice cheap tray, mug, one tea bag/ sachet of coffee like you get in a hotel. a free sample thing of sugar like costas have on the tables. one plate and kinfe and some baby jams -they sell thenm in morrisons.
i did a foot hamper last year. a washing up bowl,to soak your feet in, then filled with tissue paper, a bar of choc, puzzle book, some showergel/foot soak, footfile, nail polish, etc.
A few years back i made my nieces a joint craft hamper, so i got a cheap plastic box and filled with some playdough, paints, glue, glitter, paper, etc. wilkos are good for that sort of thing.
i trawled through the charity shops for some really old fashioned looking books for my sister. i got alice in wonderland, waterbabies, etc. then wrapped with a big ribbon around them.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Does people think that Christmas presents from Pound-type-shop is appropriate?
Or stingy? Just wanting to cut back as much as possible! x

It's the giving that counts not the cost........don't worry about it. If I had a Poundland near me I'd be there like a shot :)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Nothing wrong with poundland or any similar shop as mary says its the thought that counts. Some of the stuff is great value anyway.
