Had to do today's run on a cushy treadmill. I managed to pull the emergency stop thingy out and then I had to start again! But I ran for about 26 mins, so I'm pleasedMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

Yay, made it through my first run, still puffing 10 mins later!!!
It's freeeeeezing out there and I forgot my gloves!
Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, especially once I warmed up, like how it gives you time to rest (sort of!) in between.
Very proud of myself for getting started, pat on the back for me!Couch to 5K Running 2009/2010/2011

Went on the stupid treadmill today. I found it really hard though. I struggled through the first 10 mins, forced myself to do another 5 which I didn't think I'd manage, and then stopped after just over 15 mins.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Hi,
I noticed this thread a week or two after Drea started it and decided to have a go myself.
The local gyms were to expensive for me so all my running has been outdoors with the podcasts in the my ipod.
Im delurking because today i completed the last run of week 9 :j pretty good considering im overweight and had never run before.
The only thing is, it was actually 4.5km in 30 minutes, i think it would take me 32 or 33 minutes to make it to 5km, so my next goal is going to be getting to 5km in 30 minutes and after that I plan on starting the Gateway to 8km 10 week podcasts.
Thanks for the encouragement i got from this thread, Drea for starting it and good luck to everyone else on their way to completing the program.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
I just did my bestest run ever :j :j :j :j
I was unsure of whether to stick with 25 mins or extend to 28 (I'm counting yesterday as a blip) as I've been on 25mins for a while, but so far haven't managed to do 3 runs in a row with only one rest day in between. But after 25mins I felt fine, so went for 28. Then I didn't want to stop running, so actually did 30  :j I still felt like I could continue, but I didn't want to push too hard so I stopped.
In total, I did just over 4k. I ran at 8.4km/h for a bit, then dropped it down to 7.8km/h for most of it, and increased to 8km/h for just over the last 5 mins. How fast does everyone else with a cushy stupid treadmill run? I also burnt 310 calories, including my warm up and cool down walks.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
