I know it is not very OS but you can buy a metal thing (I think it is called metal soap) from ASDA that does the trick - I suppose this is based on the same principle as the metal spoon that FunkyFairy suggests

or a friend of mine swears by just washing your hands and wiping them round the bottom of the tap (!!), I suppose it's a metal thing.....can't say I've ever tried it,but, hey, it's free!0

I once made coffee soap which was quite good for this. So maybe if you have any coffee grounds you could try rubbing them into your hands. I know some people keep coffee grounds in their fridge for smells.0
