Never had that experience but apparently the ex's first wife had to run for the shower attachment after he'd cooked a romantic meal with chili and then got touchy feely afterwardsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

....... But what about getting rid of garlic aroma when you've eaten too much?
I made some garlic bread two days ago and used too much garlic and it's still saying 'remember me?'
Fortunately for domestic harmony DH ate just as much as me

I'm going to be shouted at, but I used to work in a pub and then a restaurant.....and the beer slops were great for washing your hands in after cutting garlic and onion and stinky foods....made your hands smell like beer, then you could wash with normal soap and the came up clean......yeah, what a waste of beer....not when it's not yours......
Chilli....owe....yup done the eye thing!!! cried a years worth of tears......0 -
Another way to get rid of smelly hands after chopping onions/garlic etc is to peel a potato afterwards. The potato somehow absorbs the smellSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0

The best way to get rid of stinky hands is to pour a good slog of salt into your hands and rub well (not good for those with paper cuts ) then wash under cold water.
Works for me every time !0 -
Was making pickled onions last night and despite copious amounts of washing my hands still have that definite oniony twang! I've tried scrubbing, lemon, even bicarb but to no avail. Any ideas much appreciated. I've seen some 'steel soap' in Lakeland - any good?

Steel soap is basically a lump of stainless steel. It does work, but if you have a suitably-sized stainless steel kitchen utensil to hand (a ladle perhaps?) this should work just as well if you rub your hands on it like soap under running water. I think somebody once said on here that rubbing your hands against the taps can have a similar effect.
