smelly onion hands!

no need to buy one of those expensive steel soaps
Simply rub your hands over any stainless steel utensils under running water. This works especially well for the odor of garlic, onions or fish.

What about when you've been chopping chillies, does it work for that? ... and has anyone else inadvertantly rubbed their eyes afterwards, even several hours later! ... ouch!!!

Slept with my hand in a bowl of water recently because I chopped loads of birds eye chillis (the hot ones) without putting gloves on, it burnt my finger tips just as though I'd lifted the grill pan out without oven gloves Ouch  they hurt for 2 days and I struggled to hold the steering wheel of my car :o

I will now always wear gloves so when I take them off my hands won't sting and I can't burn my eyes (haven't had chilli's for a while though)
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)

It *that* why you wear an eye patch? ;)

I did something similar the first time I used a real chilli ..... sliced it in half lengthways ... saw all those iddy biddy seeds ....

... scooped them out using my thumbnail :A .....

    .. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Never touched them again until I'd watched Ainsley use a teaspoon

Me poor thumb was in agony, once it gets down your cuticles you know it.

Apparently guys have an even worse time of it if they touch certain appendages when visiting the bathroom :rotfl:

Havn't had this experience with chillis but after applying olbas oil to a snuffely little MATHLET's Chest. I danced a merry little jig and warbled a sweet little tune I can tell ya:rotfl:

There goes tonight's cuppa - all over my monitor and down DS2's right ear.

Note to self: Must keep vinegar in study.

    ET03,
i found that too.. If you have got a stainless steel sink just wipe down the draining board with your hands when you have finished washing up.
But what about getting rid of garlic aroma when you've eaten too much?
I made some garlic bread two days ago and used too much garlic and it's still saying 'remember me?'
Fortunately for domestic harmony DH ate just as much as me
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
