Can see I'm going to have to try and find an alternative source for mine as well.... it's generally only a couple of tins a month, but this increase means that's an extra £2.16 a year !!!!Cheryl0 -

Miserable weather here. Looks like snow but it won't - it never does round here, just rain rain rain. Reading all your posts is cheering me up.
Shaz, re old veggies: leeks and mushrooms with a cheesy white sauce make a nice veggie lasagne. Parsnips: curried parsnip soup? Sweet potatoes are nice microwaved and then slashed with some chili butter (sorry, I do like my dairy - despite sometimes trying to be vegan, it's that TASTE). If you have some of that (extravagant) bottled chili paste with the seeds in, and mix that with the butter - yum! I haven't tried this but maybe they would make a mash that would freeze?
Help please on a stoozing question. My 0% borrowing is coming to an end and I want to shift the balance to another credit card. My problem is that I haven't nearly reached the limit on my old card, and I won't do that before I run out of 0% time. My question is, if I transfer this balance to a new card, can I add more balance to that new card at a later stage? Can't find anything about this on the site, though I expect the info is there somewhere. If I have to just transfer it all at once, at the start, there won't be all that much, and most of the capacity on my new stoozing card is going to go unused. Can some experienced card-juggler answer this one for me please? Cheers.

Hi All,
It's cats and dogs here, I've had 1 customer and 1 person in for a chat, not a lot of bodies around today, and I can't blame them either.
The party went well last night, the final one of this week tonight, so hopefully that will be good as well.
I'm going to have a look at the prezzie threads today and want to work on my stockpile. I will have a look at mysupermarket to see what the cheapest prices are. I've decided to work on the storecupboard first, I've got some tins from Lidl's and farmfoods. I've found Instore to be good as well. They have quite a selection and for good prices. Will need to try homebargains too, had a quick squint in there once, cause it's only arrived recently in my area.
I want to check the prices of lentils etc. Sophiesmum, how do you find costco for lentils and the like, are they cheaper or do you think it's best to get them from the supermarket?
Off for a nosey now, will check in later.

Thanks for the recipe ideas
re the stoozing it all depends on the credit limit on the new card and the time limit for transfers on the new card we have 2 short term offer cards that run out in january we transferered the balances to a long term card filled the short term cards again then transferred agin tio the long term card as the transfer period is the same as the 0% period its the virgin money card we have for long term you can with that card transfer cash (up to your limit and with a fee) to your current account too
Hope thats clearer.........................and that i understood the question:rotfl:

Good afternoon to all,
Like most places, it is wet and windy here, so not a lot going on in the street (or on the washing line!).
Glad you sorted out the free scratchcard problem, Mumzy, it's slow money but always the chance of that £100
Sorry to hark back to the free giveaways via freecycle and gumtree etc but here is an example of the kind of emails I am constantly receiving:
"interested in your kitchen stuff were first time buyers and dont have much wots you address????"
The above is the entire content of one of the many emails I receive in response to items I list as free for collection. Am I just overly sensitive about these things or does anyone else get annoyed at the likes of the multiple question marks (it's sometimes exclamation marks, as in, "wen can i collect!!!!"), the lack of any introduction or, in my opinion, a blatant lack of good manners? I hate feeling judgemental, but ...I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
