Hello Jumble-bee.
My shed is still free although you will have to share with an industrail strimmer, a food smoker and some drills.0 -

You had better ask NYK for a second opinion
Skint Lynne - I'll second Sophiesmum's opinion - your case of frugalitis is now verging on full blown, I would expect it to have become chronic within the next 3 weeks and, by 2009, there will be absolutely no turning back as there's no known cure. Not even a 'big win' can cure chronic frugalitis. Next thing you know, you'll be speaking FRUGISH!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I can learn to speak FRUGISH at MSE night school!!! I can honestly say that I have never thought about money and how it works so much in my life, so I think I do have frugalitis.
Nite all, I'm knackered, last party of the week tomorrow.

Jumble-Bee and Marru I'm sure you'll be back on track with your spending diary in no time.;)
Spend this afternoon taking inspiration from the storecupboard pics posted earlier and went through my stocks. I started compiling a long shopping list online with T!!co to stock up my "larder" next week. The total price of it all looks scary (got some vouchers though), probably will be my biggest grocery shop ever but it will be worth it. Especially since we more or less only used to buy what we need that week. I definitely already noticed an improvement through the meal plans. I haven't been to the corner shop in ages (plus this was NSD 2 in a row, strange that, never noticed spending money everyday til I started trying for NSDs) and we haven't had take away or pizza in one and a half weeks because I just made do with what we had. :T Will probably spend tomorrow afternoon going through my kitchen/hall cupboards to rearrange stuff and make proper space for my stockDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Mumzy, when you joined and paid in your first £10, did the site give you bonus money to match it? Are you sure it didn't say you would lose your £10 bonus money? There's a thread about it somewhere, will post the link when I find it, as I am a complete novice at the bingo & scratchcards etc. All I can tell you is what I have done myself.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Good morning
It is very very windy here and pouring with rain as usual. I was woken at 4.30am by a wet cat wanting to dry off on my warm body :rotfl:
I have been spending a lot of thinking time pondering my "stockpile for a year" post.
I still have a lot of food in the freezer and the cupboards. Old members of this challenge will remember that DH could never buy things in "ones" or even twos. BOGOF meant "Buy ten get ten free"
So, I am ploughing my way through it but I only eat small meals.
Made a huge pan of soup yesterday with wilting vegs, half a pack of soup mix and a lamb shank found in the depths of the freezer.
This will probably make 20 Janey sized bowls of comfort soup
I have been looking at threads about stockpiling/cooking ahead and generally preparing for Armageddon/Arctic Winter :rotfl:
Checking out a lot of links from these threads as well. Quite interested in the Hillbilly website. Discovered recipes on there for Evaporated Milk and Condensed Milk which is of great interest to me because (dieters please avert your eyes) I am under instructions to put on weight
As Nyk will confirm, I turned up with my own tin of Evaporated Milk for my coffee. I can't do sugar as it makes me go to sleep after my gastric bypass.
Cheapest Evap I have found is in Mr T's (confirmed by mysupermaket.com) and, last time I bought it there it was 54p tin. I usually use 3-4 tins a week which is expensive but, as I said, I don't eat a lot.
So, I will have a go at the Hillbilly recipe and see how it tastes and if it costs out cheaper as it is based on powdered milk.Mum's Memory of the Day
Mum did exquisite needlework. Her cross stitch pictures of butterflies, cats, swans and other wildlife are beautifully worked. She did counted cross stitch on fine meshed linen which is very complicated to do. She won prizes at the local shows and was very proud of her red cards. I have a picture of a black cat that she made for me. I also have a huge picture of red squirrel sitting on an oak leaf branch eating acorns. When she took it in to have it framed, the shop owner said he could have sold it 10 times over.0 -

Lol, I saw the Hillbilly housewife website in my 'bookmarks' a couple of months ago, and I was very suspicious. Thought DH was amusing himself (which would have been strangely out of character, which was more worrisome) so I furiously clicked on it, only to find it was batch cooking / cheapo recipes!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
