    I didn't know you rented rooms with my parents :rotfl:

    Seriously, they are still soooooo proud of the avocado bathroom, and shower room, and kitchen (including the carpets in the bathroom and shower room!) they selected when they built the house it's unbelievable. And as for the kitchen worktop -- large avocado and yellow flowers is probably too much info for everyone :eek:

    Hmmm my flat is a visual delight... I think the people who owned it before me were colour blind and watched way too much changing rooms - there were well over 30 different colours in my 1bed flat when I moved in! :eek: Purple and lime green do NOT go together :eek:

    There still is a wide range of :eek: decoration if I'm honest as I'm scared to take off the wallpaper as thats what is holding up the plaster on my walls if my decoration exploits to date hold true for the rest of the flat :o :rotfl: I also have the delights of artex on my WALLS in the kitchen :eek: :eek: :rotfl: This is why I could afford the flat in the 1st place :rolleyes: Oh well :rolleyes:

    BB - end of Jan! Its in the rockies so I'm wondering if I can afford a few days [strike]skiing[/strike] [strike]snowploughing[/strike] falling down in snow while I'm there :whistle:

    Sorry..

    The D is usually dear or dearest or darling so...

    DD1 = dear daughter (usually eldest but occasionally aged 1)
    DS = dear son
    DGD = dear grand daughter
    DH = dear husband etc

    I'm sure there is a list around here somewhere... linky...

    Phil the Pig contained £81.97, so he wasn't quite up to the £100 I had hoped for, still, it's better than nothing and still quite a lot to me, who hardly ever uses cash for anything. It's all split up and bagged, some into each of 2 banks I have as Christmas gifts and £50 ready to be banked.

    After putting dinner on to cook, I popped outside whilst it was still daylight and planted about a dozen garlic cloves into the corner pot at the back door. It's now watered and safely covered over in a temporary cloche made from a large bubblewrap bag that came as packaging with something. My lettuce tub cloche is made from the plastic zipper bag that came with a quilt or throw at some point. (Must remember to take pictures for my blog site.)
    I reserve the right not to spend.
    The less I spend, the more I can afford.

    Frugal living challenge - living on little in 2025 while frugalling towards retirement.

    MMMmm, I'm sitting here in my purple cords and lime green DM's:D

    Yes you can: take the chance while you are there - it's being frugal really if they paid to get you there:D . Life is definitely for living and grabbing opportunities.

    Forgot to say, we're trying out autumn meadows cheapo loo roll (45p for 4) and have been suprised that it is ok.
    I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

    Frugal and ecological ingenuity at its best :j :j

    Well done on Phil the pig, mine was only a lot as it included my electricity payments money - you could stuff quite a few Phils if you were fuelcost free:D

    Hello,

    Redglass - Thanks for making me laugh re the plumbers, excellent!!!
    CW - Thanks for making me laugh re my ex - well I do have to have something to talk about with my therapist don't I :rotfl:
    SL - sorry about the job - I am sure the right one will come along when it is the right time
    Taka - trip to Canada - how exciting!!! Definitely you need to take everything out from the opportunity!
    Nyk - apploading for all your home and garden setting jobs
    Sophiesmum - will second what was said about the pedestal
    Everybody else - HELLO!!!

    I finished a pass task for the assignment that was due today last night and decided not to go for merit or distinction but all our teachers for today were off sick so we were able to work on our assignments all day and I was able to hand both the merit and distinction in and hand three of the health sheets as well. :j

    I made a new todo list for this week last night and it has 41 items on it. :eek: That is average 6 per day and I already have done 6 today so I am chuffed. Will try to tackle some smaller tasks a bit later as to have a very easy Tuesday.

    I decided not to freeze the rice and instead use it as a base for all my meals this week. Tonight rice, baked beans, tuna and cheese. Tomorrow stirfry with rice and hopefully Wednesday leftovers from Tuesday. Haven't thought as far as Thursday yet.

    My attempts of saving coffee money at college by buying capucchino saches from pound shop failed. I had first one today and it was so awful that it is going to be my last. Cappucchino anyone? So I think I will allow that coffee for now until I figure out something else. (I had to borrow 2p today to get a cup of tea with my lunch sandwich :o as I only had 38p in my pocket)

    The company that I sometime ago ordered that ridiculously expensive moisturiser came back to me and said that they have been able to reduce prices and would there be anything I want as compensation for paying the higher price. I asked for some soap and got today in the post three wonderfully smelling hand made soaps. I think I will leave the bag next to my laptop as the smell is absolutely gourgeous.

    Anyway, enough chatter as I am starving, so better go and heat my rice and beans :rolleyes:

    Have a great start of the week everybody!!

    Glad you got some extra time to work on your assignments marru:D handing in a pass when you know you are capable of merit or distinction can be so frustrating, especially when it is only time limitations that stop you. Today should have given you a little psychological boost:j
