RIP Squirrel NutkinBig naughty cat managed to drag a full grown red squirrel through the cat flap this morning
Spent a few minutes chasing cat and flapping squirrel clamped in cat's jaws around the kitchen.
After a lot of taps to nose and hissing, clawing and spitting (by cat) managed to prise squirrel from the jaws of death
Little heart still beating so have wrapped him in tea towels and put in shed out of harm's way but not much hope.
Fingers crossed.0 -
Hi Skint Lynne
I have missed the forum but sometimes the net is not the place to find comfort.0 -
Horrible horrible cat has now brought a robin in
Have had stern words and explained that cat bowls are full of juicy Tiger chunks and lovely crunchy biscuits.
Cat just licked his lips.
Off to hoover feathers up from under table :rolleyes:0 -
That's true Janey, sometimes a real live human that you can see is best. This forum is good for lots of things though and does offer a certain level of companionship. I can quite happily discuss my money worries on here, I would not discuss these with my live friends, esp DH.
I've learned loads, so I am grateful for that. A cuddle is required for other things, I know that. xx0 -
Yet again I have left it far too long between posts to be able to mention everyone seperately, but :j :j to those of you who have had good news recently and :grouphug: :grouphug: to those of you in need of a dodgy hug.
YAY!! Janey is back. Nice to 'see' you again, I always look forward to your posts. I'm glad you have decided to do your Christmas visiting :T even though I know it will be a hard time.
I seem to have been busy recently, although I'm not quite sure why. Budget for next year is progressing nicely but I will probably tweak it a bit and post it finally on the new thread. Stockpiling is also going well, although I am running out of space and OH thinks I'm mad. He bought some soap the other day because 'there wasn't one in the cupboard'. He got quite a shock when I produced 30 bars from under our bed!!:D

Squirrel update......rigor mortis well advanced.
Definitely will not be requiring nuts this Christmas.0 -
Thanks for welcome back cat.
I still have loads of storage space thankfully.
On BBC news it says that supermarkets are down on sales so maybe it will be a good time to buy in stocks in the run up to Christmas.
My DIL works for Mr M and she says there will be some good promotions coming up shortly.
I have my receipts from the promotion they were running so I will be collecting my £20 voucher after Dec 15.0 -

Janey... You are back :j((((Hugs)))) Much as this forum is wonderful, talking to and being with real life people is essential too and can offer things we can't like real life hugs and company in the darker moments :undecided :A We are here if and when you want us to be!
Sorry about the (ex) wildlife your cat brought in  I've never managed to see a red squirrel before, only grey ones. A grey one a few years back had my mum trained to give it nuts! :rotfl: It would scale the trellis, hang upside down  and eventually get to the windowsill of my parents back room and stick its nose to the window and tap on it until my mum gave it extra nuts :rotfl: She is such a sucker for cute wildlife:rolleyes: You just had to hum the mission impossible theme tune whenever you saw it... :rotfl: Mind you her parents had a blackbird that would hop into the kitchen every morning and [strike]make noise [/strike] sing till you fed it so I think its genetic... Probably just as well my brother and I have 1st floor flats
:rotfl:
Woooo Hoooo Lynda! :j Its here just in time to pay for your gorgeous new house :j What a welcome early Xmas pressie!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
