Ahem....Penny.....take outs! (consider yourself reprimanded, lol)
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

closest thing I've come to a take-out in well over 12 months (other than carrying cheap pizzas and other foods home from the supermarkets) is a Pasty from Gr3ggs last Wednesday, while I was chasing my tail trying to find a suit for younger DS

I'm planning on building a few into next year -- probably at times elder DS is home on leave. And if I include DD and GDs into the trip (meaning that with younger DS there'll be 6 of us) it won't come cheap even if it's just a McD happy meal each

Ohhhh I like the house Lynda :D Congratulations! Happy birthday too! :D I was thinking cheap too - that would only get you a 1 bed, possibly tiny 2 bed flat here!

((((hugs)))) Skint Lynne I hope the job hunt goes your way soon.

Redglass - Can I kidnap your plumbers please? I still have an evil avocado suite and dodgy tiles from the dark ages... sob... Its also freezing in there - 9degC this morning  It will be done soon, it will be done soon, it will be done soon...

:santa2: to all newbies and anyone else reappearing :D

PS Looks like I'm off to Canada for the conference :j I finally got up the courage to speak to my boss about it last week and he has (a wee bit begrudgingly!!) agreed :j Yippee :j I'm going to need to do a poster for it though... scary...  I've never done one outside of my institute and will have to present data I'm only partially involved in which will make it quite nerve wracking (sp?) too!! (My latest data is not ready to present/publish quite yet - needs a bit more work)

PPS I need to get a passport pronto  Mine just ran out
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

I didn't know you rented rooms with my parents :rotfl:

Seriously, they are still soooooo proud of the avocado bathroom, and shower room, and kitchen (including the carpets in the bathroom and shower room!) they selected when they built the house it's unbelievable. And as for the kitchen worktop -- large avocado and yellow flowers is probably too much info for everyone

But they did finally get their central heating fixed on Friday, after the boiler we've been nagging my Dad to have properly serviced (or preferably replaced) for the last 5 years or so finally gave up the ghost about 4 weeks ago. And when they tried heating water with the electric immersion the thermostat had given, the hot water fed back up into the (plastic) header tank, and the header tank melted :eek::eek:
