Oh I almost forgot (been a manic day) had a letter from council planning today, they want to build a Lidl store about 2 streets away from here. I don't use Lidl much as it is other side of town and we have others nearer but out of curiosity today had a ride over to check it out, definately some frugal savings to be made there;)
I spent a little on nice xmas choccy things whilst I was there, and some iced soft gingerbread biscuits which I love. Picked up an advent calendar for a little monkey too. £4.26 to deduct from budget for my little splurge:p
Hope it goes through so I can get more bargains, was talking to sales assistant whilst there and apparently they also give away to customers all the bread/rolls/scones/cakes etc when date is nearly up instead of reducing them - that could be very handy to know -0 -

so sorry I meant 342 not 241:o
Thanks but I don't know about 342 so I am still no wiser, merely better informed. :rotfl: So what is 342?
We have an M&S outlet near us and they have some very nice reduced presents just now. I particularly like the tin of cookies in the shape of a old-fashioned delivery van.'Whatever you dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin now.' Goethe

Hello,
I am back. I managed to finish the nutrition pass and merit tasks and emailed them to my teacher hopefully making the deadline. I have till Monday for the distinction as I have been poorly. I am glad to say that the antibiotics have been kicking in and I am feeling better.
Tomorrow it is the MOT for my car and yet another assignment that needs to be finished. I am so relieved of getting the MOT done. I had insurance sorted in October, recovery service couple of weeks ago (with £30.- cashback) and if now the MOT goes through I have only the tax in the end of December and then I can be care free up till October (if the car won't need any further servicing) so big weight off my shoulders.
Not so good: I am fighting with one bookie as they owe me £100.- and they claim that after sending me an email about the offer they now suddenly have decided that I wasn't entitled to the offer, so some firm worded emails going out in relation to that.
Good: As I mentioned earlier I am doing great in the voucher front and also got £5.- from coop and two from Mr T.
Fantastic: I managed to meet the deadline for the assignment and feel positive about tomorrow. And I am buzzing on getting my spreadsheets sorted this weekend.
CW: I have been thinking of you today. I hope you are ok.
Have a great evening everybody!!

Opps sorry- It's normally me that's the last to understand short cuts
342 is three for the price of two
241 is two for the price of one
M&S have a Christmas Shop selling gift type things and most are three for the price of two (342) but before you go I read that they are having another 20% off sale on 4th December. You get that on top of the three for two!Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Hi all, desperately trying to catch up on hte thread but still only on p93; so much has happened!!
Hope everyone is doing okay, sorry for not commenting on anything important but I probably haven't read it yet!
Morocco was fantastic, we packed loads into the week and both feel we've had a long break away. Unfortunately it also included a speeding fine (not our fault) and also an accident with a homeless man on a black mountain road - again not our fault as he just walked out infront of our car  but we got to see A&E (no NHS of course so costly). He was absolutely fine, luckily only hit with the wing mirror and he was absolutely fine, in fact just looking for a nice warm place to sleep and some food really. With a new wing mirror and the cost of paying the 'guide' to help us find the right make, it was quite expensive! We had some extra put aside though so okay.
Once back we found one of our cats very poorly so vets bills are the next thing - £100 so far for a blood test  Bless him, he's very unwell though, hasn't eaten the whole week we were away and has lost 2 kilos.
Good news from here is that an old cheque I found whilst decluttering has cleared for £110 :T And even more excitingly, I found out today that my DLA has been renewed for another 3 years, against all the odds and without an appeal :j I am a very happy bunny today!
Love to everyone and will try to catch up on everything over the next few days xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Evening all. Not long staggered back in, and am just a little tipsy (first time I've had a "drink" drink this year, and I downed 2.5 or 3 pints of Strongb0w  )
Everything went as well as could be expected, and the vicar read the information he'd asked for on Brian exactly as I'd written it (which I didn't expect!) Had elder DS and DD in tears, but younger DS still hasn't had a cry that I've seen. People came over later (especially SIL) and said that what I'd written was "just perfect", so sounds like I managed to get something right.
A friend of DH's from years ago (they were in a walking club together) managed to make it over, which I really appreciated. I managed to pull him to one said and ask if he'd be the fourth bearer, as we only had three from the family and the kids didn't want a stranger (ie. someone from the funeral home) to do it if we could avoid it at all. He agreed, and it seemed really appropriate as he was also Best Man at our wedding 16 years ago last August.
DH's "watering hole" is currently under temporary management, but the landlady did us proud with the buffet. I ate plenty (to mop up the cider) and have fetched home a decent sized piece of salmon that was left when I nipped home to move my car off a neighbours drive back onto mine -- mainly 'cos I was blocking my BIL in !!!! (I was probably over the limit when I did that much to the horror of younger son, but we're on a shared driveway which meant I never actually went on a public roadCar isn't lined up quite as well as normal, but doesn't actually look badly parked!)
ETA: and today was also officially my first day of unemployment!! talk about timing !!!!!!!!!Cheryl0 -
I was thinking about you today Cheryl and i am relieved it went well for you..sounds like a lovely service. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Good to hear from you cheryl: sounds like you did Brian proud. You've created a a real picture of the day. And I had to laugh at your frugal self breaking through the cloud of cider to remember to grab that spare bit of salmon.
Bails - delighted you had a great time and got your dla too: wow, result:T .
Frugally walked to and from work today and my reward was a large piece of unframed mirror I can break up for my mosaics left outside someone's home for any passerby.
Redglass - it's ok - the 342 went over my head too - I though it was some sort of online voucher code:rotfl:I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
