Live on £4000 for a year - part 4 (Oct - Dec 2008)

Even people I worked with have been astounded at how little our window cleaner charges..... I don't think many of them see change out of £7 a fortnight, even for smaller properties/less windows.

I asked last year about changing to 4-weekly (as we had a lot less income due to my sick pay ending), but was told it was £3.80 a fortnight or £4.50 every 4 weeks. So yes, it would save me some money (though not half), but we do still have a lot of houses round the corner with open fires -- and at this time of year the soot collects on our windowsills if the wind is in the wrong direction !!

But to be honest, I think it would be more than that if I change the agreement now -- I know he's put the prices up for my neighbours in the last 12 months, and think mine should be at least £4/fortnight now, so probably closer to a fiver if I went 4-weekly

I am on a mad declutter frenzy and have a pile to do before DH finishes work at 2.30pm. Then it's off to town for a planned spend And somehow I have to get ingredients for marizipan as I want to make some marzipan treats for advent for DH, and it has just occurred to me that it's December next week. Aaaarrrggghhhh.

sophiesmum (aka guru), do you have a recipe for making marizipan from scratch, please?

SL BTW, my £50 amazon voucher from Qype came through. Thank you so much for telling us about it on here, as I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

Update: Phew, I had cleared all the 'junk' mail from my account this morning, so found my amazon voucher in the trash. Thanks for thanking me whitewing, or I might not have got the email!! DVD's ordered for DH's birthday, now hoping that the ipod will come through for my brother!!

I have a question

Our phone is with tisc@li and so is our broadband but seperately not a package and line rental is with Beatty do we still have to use them for line rental or has that rule finished ie could i get a package from someone for all these services together
