Morning all. Sun shining + working from home = cup of tea while sitting in the sunshine :)
Have opened an Egg savings account at 3.25%, 2.6% after tax. As this is over 1% more than mortgage rate on offset account I'll transfer all offset money into here. If we average 10k in there for a year that's an extra £100, so not to be sniffed at, and account operates over the internet so I can transfer in & out at will. The only down side is it's for 'new money' - i.e. not money already in an Egg account, so I'll need to transfer funds out then in again, but only a one-off exercise, so I can cope :)
Also opened another account with A&L at 3.15% (I think), to keep small fund from mum's house to pay bills in. I opened it 2 days ago, with the intention of transferring offset in, then read about the Egg account which will be far easier to operate, but this will be fine for the small amount I will have in it :)
Friend paid me some money she owed me so £98 to offset :)
3 MS lined up for lunchtime :)
DS has painted ceiling in hall and walls have had 1 coat of paint. Need to show him how to balance on banister to reach top of wall upstairs though :D. Looks v bright, although colour is called white chocolate so am worried I may lick it when hungry :)
Toms still alive & a few more starting to change colour :)
Have lost a total of 6.75lbs since starting diet, albeit a few months ago :)
18 more sleeps till holiday  :)

All :) today folks :T:T:T, hope all is the same for you

So, been following FB's instructions & managed to recreate my graph :T, thanks FB :kisses3:

    graph.jpg

It's projected to the end of Aug 2011, although June is last date showing. Dark blue is how mortgage balance is due to drop, pink is how offset is due to rise (big drop is when I bought car :o), pale blue is projected net balance and yellow is target. So, I need to get £5600 by end of Aug 2011, so only £2800 for me & same for OH. Which is not much over £100 extra a month, so eminently doable :D

Hope someone is sad enough to find it interesting :o

    Hey gg,
Thanks for the nod. I do keep an eye on your diary, but sadly nearly always fail to post anything useful - never enough hours in the day.

I'll cough to being sad. Presumably you raided your offset - was that when you purchased a car? Know someone who has a diary purchased one recently - too many diaries. Apologies if I'm confusing you with someone else.

Thanks FB, yes twas I who bought a car :o. The 'offset' is actually now a total of regular saver ISA at 7% (equates to around 3.6% APR), offset and 10k just put into Egg savings at 3.25%. Hmmm, maybe I need 3 extra lines plus the total .

Having just found out how to filter a spreadsheet on a date (e.g. 1st of month), I will be updating spreadsheets for accuracy at weekend (on my spreadsheeets I did payments on 1st for a year then dragged down for 20 years, didn't take into account leap years :o).

Am liking being able to see my graph at work :)

    I'm confused!

Is this a comment on my graph or a v deep philosophical statement about your understanding of the world

    OK, weekend round-up.

Have been inspired by the athletics on TV (wow, Bolt was FAST!!!!!!) - am going swimming at 7am tomorrow :)
    Probably ;)
    Possibly :o
    Maybe

My A&L saver account I opened is a no-goer. Basically, I seemed to open right in the middle of them imposing a 1k minimum, as this is just an account to keep spare cash for late mum's house which is let out I don't have 1k in it . However, have managed to open another Egg account at 3.25%, which is 0.1% higher anyway, so money transferred into there :)

Was really, really tired yesterday & today so gave myself a break. Put back one MS till next weekend & cancelled one  - in my defence it was a no fee sports shop job so not too fussed. Got more energy now :)

Raided local charity shop for books yesterday, they do a 20p period every now & then. 2 books look like they could go on Amazon for a good few pounds, have allocated a good few to go to apartment and have listed the rest on GM. May nip over tomorrow & get some more :)

Ate some homegrown toms (sorry TPA ;)) :)

Stocked up in Tesco, got some good bargains :)

    But forgot my coupons :(

Have cooked 5 main meals for the week :)

Am planning a major overhaul of spreadsheets in next few days

OH has entrusted me with sorting out his poor performing ISA's. As they have grown £63 over the last 6 months I think I can do better :)

Sold something on ebay for £3.20 but still £10 short of cashing in :(

Working from home tomorrow :j which is why I can go swimming. I'm having real issues at the mo with work - I enjoy it but I can't have a real life while doing it - am away 06.45 to 19.15, so too late really to do any exercise (except wiifit - no excuse there :o), see friends etc. Then come Friday I'm exhausted. The problem is I earn over double what I could earn with a local job. So what is more important - having a life now or delayed gratification to pay off mortgage & retire early . I suspect the latter will win, but I do need to seriously think about this

Lots of :), a few :( and , but that's a pretty big .

Still, 13 sleeps till holiday so more :) than anything else.
