Quick update:
Last year I kept money from comps etc separate as it was for NY but this year I will keep with savings but account for separately. With mortgage rate at ave of 1.48% across 3 accounts (1.99% on offset) it's more efficient to have a decent rate ISA and ensure it is filled so have been looking for a decent one. As I suspected, Saffron BS sent my cheque backWas going to apply for First Direct but my cashback account on best site for them has been suspended
so have emailed them. It's a conspiracy .
Have sorted out 09/10 spreadsheets. DD's plus basic housekeeping, less OH's 1/2 of mortgage = 20.8k . Neither wonder I'm skint all the time.
Did 9  mystery shops today, fee of around £155 less around £15 diesel so good day :T.
Also got £5 Morrisons voucher, that will be used and £5 transferred to offset
As of today mortgages O/S are:
38075.53 (net of offset)
71835.58
42121.05
152032.16, only £57.04 a day till I'm 55. Joy _pale_A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Got a booking for apartment for June :j. However, to a friend so give a good rate & after paying for cleaning etc. I will only clear around £150. Still, that's car hire & car park for our trip next month paid for :T.
Had an email from mystery shopping to to say I've made balls up on entering results on 5 submitted so far . At least I have done jobs correctly so have info but there was me thinking the end was in sight - takes about 15 mins to input data

Another 2 mystery shops done today - here's hoping for Arsenal to win 3-1 or 4-1 tonight
And after my !!!! ups on inputting I still scored 8/10 on others so go me.
Whilst meandering around other fora (oohhh, get me with my Latin plurals*) I saw someone saying they had asked their bank for an Electron card instead of Visa Debit. I therefore emailed Smile (where I have 2 semi-dormant accounts) and asked and they have said yes. Doh :doh:why didn't I think of that before? Now I can book Ryanair & other flights for free - had I got my act together earlier and used my brain I could have saved £50 this year alone
. Still, that's next year taken care of - till Michael O'Leary changes the rules again. Speaking of St Michael, Ryanair are offering 1k for the best suggestion as to what they can charge for next. I've had 12 entries
, they've done some mock ups on their site which are pretty funny, fair play to them :T.
Had a long talk with OH last night, he'd been lined up for his old boss's job, he's been doing it for a few months & had come to the conclusion it couldn't be done by one person any more (in my opinion his last boss only managed as he had OH as 2nd in command, obviously he can't do both jobs). Bit scary but he needed to put his health first & it was really affecting him. He spoke to director today & he is cool about it & has other things in mind, or is reconsidering the roles. Phew, load off both our minds.
Off to input 2 shops & have v early night as a bit under the weather.
*OK, so I had to look it up as I didn't do Latin at school. However, at least I knew I didn't know it - son's in final year at Uni & tutor has just corrected 'speech' to 'speach' in a piece of work .

This should make a very big difference to you both, and no doubt this will increase the natural boost we feel with Spring arriving. Good to hear of the positive reception OH received.
TBH Stuart I think we both suffer a touch from SAD. I was in a ridiculously good mood on Monday, driving in the sunshine withand  on
.
OH works incredibly hard & although is v well paid I maintain his hourly rate would actually be poor - he is on work mode from 5.30am till bedtime (& also has been caught on the loo with Blackberry during the night  ). Hopefully he will find a challenging role but not a 24hr one! He loves his job & industry but over the last few months (coupled with 2 close friends having serious illnesses) he has been questioning whether it's all worth it. Does us all good to have those conversations with ourselves from time to time.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

PS What's an electron card?
No good as the bets were for them to win 3-1 or 4-1 after normal time
I believe an Electron card is given to people with a poor credit risk as it only goes through if you have funds in your account, so no risk to retailer. I applied for one as most budget airlines accept them & don't charge fees on them. Diary was on page 3 :rotfl:, which was great as it means lots of people using this board .
I keep being given money. OK, not enormous amounts, but 2 mystery shopping payments of a total of £75 over the last few days. Straight to offset of course
.
OH also given me 1k to go into offset, as soon as cheque clears. That means he has paid around £1700 more than me so he will gloat till I catch up - competition is good, yes?
So, much to my incredulity, things are still on track to pay off mortgage #1 by end of Aug 2011, and all 3 mortgages by end of Aug 2016 :T. And (just as important) I will be back on track for MFiT challenge by August this year :j.
7 items on ebay but no bids yet
Mum's house in the paper tomorrow. Here's hoping I get a nice tenant quickly. House looks nice & fresh & carpets have cleaned up pretty good - TBH compared to other properties we have/have had it's def. the nicest. There are 10 pages of 2 bed properties around same price on Right Move , however most are apartments, tiny new properties or ex-council in not great areas. Will ring at 9am to amend ad & say near school as I am sure that will make a difference. Am hoping for a nice single parent looking for long term let (actually, I think I want the clone of the tenant who's just moved into one of our BTL's, she's great). Financially I won't be adding to OP's from rent. It will just be giving me the income to pay what I actually have been paying without going into overdraft, plus some put away for repairs and £80 a month to [strike]leeches[/strike] DD & DS. Am sure I will manage to squeeze some extra out though .
Have decided to grow own veg. Of course, that means another spreadsheet :rotfl:to monitor costs v crop. Currently 4 ickle tomato and 4 not so ickle pepper plants on winsdow sill, plus some tom seeds. Need to get act together & find somewhere to put them now. Will also be growing pots, carrots, radish, salad leaves & poss broad beans & peas, looking forward to 1st crop already
Hope all are well, another sunny day here!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
