Thanks all. Leaving in 4 hours, just getting my wings ready
.....
Probably won't go to bed, or at least just lie down for a little while, as I never sleep when I have to get up at crack of dawn. A nap would be good though
TBH haven't really been looking forward to it too much as I've been exceptionally busy at work & been leading a very stressful situation (which is still going on, so feel bad about going )
Still, now that I'm packed, am feeling a bit more.

Did you find the US expensive at the current exchange rates?Dk really as it's donkeys years since I went to US. It was more a case of thinking how cheap things would have been if I had bought my dollars last year . TBH, I'm not really a shopper so wasn't that fussed.
Friend bought a pair of $200 dollar shoes , however it was her 50th & she had been given $200 dollars by son. Macy's gave her an 11% discount so they 'only' cost $178. So she actually got a gorgeous pair of shoes having spent -$22 :T (don't try to understand the logic Stuart, it's a woman thing)

Women + Logic
:rotfl:We didn't know whether to go out that night or stay in and look at the shoes :rotfl:.
On a mortgage free note, my £30 cheque from an online discussion I did a while back has just cleared & been transferred into offset. It is now sitting at just over 10k. Net mortgage on own house is now £38,077 (hmmmm, where can I find £77:think:) - this is approx. £150 LESS than in Nov when I borrowed the money for my car :T. I'm on track to be back on schedule for MFiT challenge by Sept :j.
Assuming Egg pass on latest rate cut (C&G already have stated they will do so) our average rate (weighted to take into account balances on each deal) will be 1.48% . A big :kisses2: to BofE MPC :T. Our snowball date for paying off all mortgages (normal monthly payments + £500) is currently July 2015, 13 months ahead of schedule. Interest cuts have decimated the date. Can't wait till rate changes come through and I can update, hopefully a good few months will be knocked off.
Received and returned forms to Saffron BS for regular savings ISA, however I note from their website now catchment area only so expect cheque to be returned (can I use your address Stuart, I expect you're in it). The other good one was First Direct but you need to open current account and I already have 4
, Egg Money Manager is already struggling to display all accounts & credit cards! Will revisit options if Saffron reject me.
Most work finished at mum's, need to check then pay workman and sort out refitting & cleaning of carpets etc. plus finish off my bits & bobs & give a good clean (floor tiles cbeing cut & grout mixed = mucho mucho dust). Hopefully will get £450 a month, may try for a little more (identical house but v modernised currently up for 500pcm, hopefully it wil be goneby the time I'm ready).
Off to do mystery shop at travel agents, have a good day all

Good to hear that your finances are pulling around so quickly, even if you are now juggling a lot! Some good progress too on the other matters so you must be happy.0
