I found that out myself when i first used xbox LIVE after it was released, i payed £20 i think for a cable which i could have got for alot less on the internetDFW NERD....560

i have gears of war and never got anything included that gives a free month. halo 2 is only on xbox and not xbox 360. would an offer from the old console work on the 360? there was a 48 hour code included with halo 3 when i got that.0 -
Hi all, after being "stung" with buying the cable at pc world for a ridic sum, i thought i would ask you all where the best place to buy the "gadget" (sorry, i AM old) that lets your son play his xbox live (which seems to be everytime i look/) and ME to go online as i am missing this site and also without checking my emails reg i find when I DO log on i have about 50 to read? It is not a router is it?DFW NERD....560

It is a router. How do you connect to the 'net just now?
There are two types of internet connection (and accordingly two types of router.) Cable connections (currently only virgin media do this in the UK) or ADSL connections through the phone line (everyone else, but Virgin Media can also.)
So you need to find out what kind of connection you have and buy a router accordingly. You can buy simple wired routers for about £10 now, or if you fancy wireless prices range from about £15 for bargain ones to £40 for higher end ones for the home, although anywhere inbetween would probably do.Russia is HERE0
