    Seconded...you got screwed.

The cost of *any* networking cables on the high street is a joke...Look on play.com, you can get a replacement cable (if you even need a replacement at all...) for something like £3 delivered. Take the PC World one back and ask for a refund.
Ive opened it now!!! god i could kick my own fat a**e sometimes (still got packaging though?) only bought it sunday, mind you it took hubby nearly an hour to curl it around the floorboards and find the hole he drilled to drop it through to the dining room, if i pulled it out now i think he would scream.:rotfl:

i have gears of war and never got anything included that gives a free month. halo 2 is only on xbox and not xbox 360. would an offer from the old console work on the 360? there was a 48 hour code included with halo 3 when i got that.

It is a router. How do you connect to the 'net just now?

There are two types of internet connection (and accordingly two types of router.) Cable connections (currently only virgin media do this in the UK) or ADSL connections through the phone line (everyone else, but Virgin Media can also.)

So you need to find out what kind of connection you have and buy a router accordingly. You can buy simple wired routers for about £10 now, or if you fancy wireless prices range from about £15 for bargain ones to £40 for higher end ones for the home, although anywhere inbetween would probably do.
