I think you got royally conned there.
They're the same cable, just the latter is perhaps of slightly better build quality. You can buy a super long network cable for less than a fiver, and shorter ones have been in poundland recently.Russia is HERE0 -
by the way you get 1 free month on the gold memebership when you first go on xbox live. make sure you have a hotmail email address beforehand because they require that as well as other info from you. after putting in several bits of info you will get to a page were it asks if you want the free silver membership or the gold membership. select the free silver membership it will then tell you that you qualify for the 1 free month on the gold membership.
heres a trick as well. when the month finishes just go through the process of starting a new gamertag and membership again and you will get another fee month. i managed to get 3 free months before the system wised up. obviously put in totally new details each time, email, gamertag, address etc. the address will have to be a real one(it doesnt have to be yours) each time like the email address will need to be. 1 mickey mouse lane, donald duckville wouldnt work. you need the postcode as well which can easily be found online if you dont know it.0 -
yea you can also get free months of xbox live out of the games for windows xbox games i.e Gears of War, Shadowrun and halo2, just rent them from blickbusters.0

Seconded...you got screwed.
The cost of *any* networking cables on the high street is a joke...Look on play.com, you can get a replacement cable (if you even need a replacement at all...) for something like £3 delivered. Take the PC World one back and ask for a refund.0 -

I found that out myself when i first used xbox LIVE after it was released, i payed £20 i think for a cable which i could have got for alot less on the internet0 -
I bought my ethernet cable for about £3-4 on eBay. Also look out on there for Xbox games and gold membership codes - I bought 10 48 hour trial codes for £1 a while back. The only difference between those and a full membership seems to be that you can't go on ranked matches, but this only seems to affect Halo 3. Social matches are still fine though, and they're much more fun
Make £2020 in 2020 - £263.78/£2020
2020 totals
Swagbucks - £100 | Prolific Academic - £44.54 | Qmee - £10 | PopulusLive - £50

Also note that US live membership codes are cheaper than UK ones - so if you can fudge your sign-on first time around to make it US, you can get cheap renewals. (NB...not 100% sure it's legal, it's highly likely against the T&Cs, it can never be changed (believe me, I've *tried*) and it's a pain in the butt...but aside from that, it's a very MSE solution

Think it's getting on for a year now since they changed it - all codes are now regionally locked (MS points and subs...)0
