Lovely Maggie, looks very similar to our H/S/L carpet. Looking more homely now, any idea when you may be moving in?

We had our roller blinds installed in bedroom/loft room on Monday. We have the sun from mid-morning till sundown on those rooms so badly needed, we had the curtains shut all the time before. Must try and take a pic soon and put it on my blog.

Still waiting for DS to get his bum into gear and level the sun room floor. He told us weeks ago it would be April. Now he's taken on another job and says it will be May :(. D-i-l says he's picking and choosing jobs, I said if he doesn't want to do it then just say so but I bet if we went ahead and got someone else he would probably moan about that! Told OH to order the levelling compound and do it himself, I think he is quite capable but he seems to have lost his confidence in doing anything now.

    Thank you!

Local carpet shop, Bogans. You can see the carpet here, it's the one called Curlew. We did wonder about Filbert, but when we got a sample of both home we decided it was a bit too dark. And the Gardenia looked nice too, but we felt it was a bit pale to be practical for us - neither of us like housework! ;)

Maggie If you're around, I know you know a lot of plants, can you identify which variety of geranium this is please if possible?

    21d4rrt.jpg34gkld5.jpg

It's the one in the wall, not the pot standing on top of the post and you can see it behind the hedgehog (taken at last house).

It's a salmon colour, definitely not orange, just in case it's true colour isn't the same as on your screen, and it's a double flower. The leaves have the darker stripe on.

I'm just about to murder TD as I've just found out he potted up cuttings from a new geranium we bought last year but didn't take cuttings of my all time favourite which I've had for years, he just left them in the garden and they've all died over the winter. This garden isn't as sheltered as our last one - we didn't need to take them in there, but we lost some the previous winter and he said he'd make sure he got cuttings next time. I'm so mad I could cry .

ETA: I've found another photo which shows it a bit closer.

Sorry, TM, not much use on geraniums - I tend to be lethal to them! ;) Best I can suggest is google for salmon geraniums. Certainly brings up a highly coloured page! :rotfl: Love the hedgehog! :)

Thanks Maggie. I'd googled geraniums, never thought to google just salmon ones doh!!! I'll get TD on to that later seeing as this is all his fault ;). I can't actually see us getting another one the same, there are so many and we can't even remember where the original came from.

The hedgehog was found in the garden of our previous place, after we'd sold up and were renting it back whilst waiting for this house to be finished. The new owners were trading in the restaurant at the time and the chap was on his break sitting in the garden when he saw it and told TD about it. Both TD and I love hedgehogs and were amazed to see this little one considering we'd lived there for 15 years and had never seen one in this area before, it's so open with the beach, very few gardens, etc. Ours was a very small garden, mainly paved with just small borders, not exactly a normal environment for hedgehogs! TD put it underneath the geraniums, which had grown very big in that position, hoping that the cat wouldn't find it!

OH went up to the house this evening, the doors are all back on now.

Thought this was fun - one light tube is on front roof, one on back roof.

I'm glad we went for the frosted glass on the master bedroom door. House is roughly south west facing, so the glass brings in more light to the landing. We lost a massive window by the stairs, so we've tried to bring in as much natural light as possible

Tomorrow we go to meet Staircase Man to finalise details of the glass balustrade. It'll be lovely to have a bannister again, I haven't been upstairs since before Christmas!
