    Long time.........

@maggie - looks great - love the skylight.
@stolt - you must be just about done? Everytime I see your pics I think there cant be much left to do!

We've had a bit of a set back - if you could call it that. Our house was done over and trashed a few weeks back. 3 years of hard work, money and pain getting so close to having a fantastic family home and its never going to be the same. I would urge you all to consider getting an alarm if you dont already have one as it may make the difference.

Any sign of pics from Andyb? Sorry bit behind with things.

sorry to here that mate, i cant swear on here but you get my drift, assuming it was burglary and then for kicks smashed it all up, must be so gutting to come home to that. One thing i did do was get new doors etc as security is quite big on my mind, my mum had dad had several attempted breakins one where i was on my own at home when i was about 12 and the guys where putting there hands through the cat flap trying to get the keys.

did they steal much aswell.... feel for you..... although with the current economc situation i keep reading its increasing along with muggings etc.. cheery guy arent i!!

Oh no Latecomer! How awful for you and Mrs LC. As you say, all your hard work over the last few years, heartbreaking. It's bad enough your place being trashed but I hope you didn't lose anything irreplaceable. We live in such a small place with not much crime that you forget that it does go on elsewhere.

I hope little LC is thriving and bringing you both all the happiness in the world.

Would be nice to hear how Andy is getting on, I expect the baby is keeping him busy.

I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry. You must be absolutely gutted. Please tell us you had insurance? Insurance wont help how you feel about it but at least it will help a bit financially.

It's bad enough having things stolen but trashing the place too is just bloody awful. Any idea if it's a gang/teenagers/local druggie etc etc?

I'd be furious. Start having more nights out round the local pubs to see if you can hear of your stuff being offered for sale.

Thanks folks - we are insured but the whole thing is a mess. We're not able to live in it at the moment, insurance took weeks to just confirm we were covered.

Police have caught the person and most of our stuff was recovered but we cant get it back for some time and dont really want it back with a couple of exceptions.

LLC is doing ok - he's been a bit unsettled but all things considered not bad. We've been waiting for months for teeth and just like buses , he's got 3 in a week. He's also getting pretty big now too and desperately trying to crawl.

Oh Latecomer, I do so feel for you. :( I Remember how I felt when we came home from the caravan last year and found we'd been burgled. Although they left a mess (mainly papers scattered everywhere) they didn't trash the place, sounds as if yours must have been really bad if you can't live there at present. :( Good to hear that the police have caught the %$&^%&^ I hope they throw the proverbial book at him. Grrr!

Good to hear about Little LC's teeth coming through, DGS1 has about 3 now, not sure about DGS2 as he's not quite so much into chewing yer fingers! ;) But both drooling quite a lot! :rotfl:

Arrived at the house yesterday lunchtime to find builder and plasterer there. Gas fire now plastered in, and downpipe at back of house now securely fitted into drain.

Spent a lot of time in the garden, potted up a few more lavender plugs that had perked up since I did the original lot - they'd got a bit dry before when we were both laid up with virus. Got about 40 lavenders to plant out when they're a bit bigger! Started off a dozen of each Red Baron and Huron onion sets - bit late, but there you go. Still got some left but a bit short of space as so disorganised at the garden at the mo. Looks like we may have had blue tits in the nesting box, and I think one of them fledged yesterday afternoon while I was sitting on the patio just enjoying the sun and garden colour.

Plan today is to get up there when OH gets home from T***o and plant the Blue Danube spuds anywhere we can find space! ;) Personally I think potato plants will look really good mixed in with the roses. :) We do have one de-weeded strip under a poly tunnel that will take some of them, but not enough room for all. Then a barbie around tea time. Oh, and want to get at least some of the beans and peas started off. And there's all the flower seeds too!

    Latecomer,

I'm so sorry to read your terrible news! :( There's nothing that can be said to make you feel any better with the exception of at least everyone is ok and there wasn't any sort of confrontation.

Hate to say this, though chances are he'll get off with it - let's face it, they always do. Rather than throwing the book at him I'd much rather throw my old cast iron bath at him from the 1st floor (I'm really doing my best not to swear). I sadly don't have any sorrow for such little scumbags. I've been the vitcim of similar stuff in the past and I knew who it was - couldn't do anything though in fear of a revenge attack on my family - though I haven't forgotten - that's for sure.

Anyway I'm sure my rant isn't really helping as you probably want to put it behind you. Your project will still be brilliant! Keep ya chin up :)

Thanks. To be honest, this dream is over. The house will never be home now and will be up for sale as soon as possible.

Maybe a Second Time house renovation thread will be required..... :)
