Thanks! It's due end of March. Going back next week for another scan as although it was moving around/responding it just wouldn't move into the right position to get a neck measurement - fine by us as we get to see again sooner!

We've got all that to come! :j OH had first scan this morning so we're all excited and i'm allowed to tell folk now ! Hence the sense of urgency to get the house ready. Also why i've switched to water-based paint! So i'll be having to repaint the spare room at some point to become the nursery which has already been done once!

You had me worried then, I thought I'd had a senior moment and missed your post about being pregnant. Many congrats to you both, another baby to coo over :j .

Fantastic news. I always said we would have a girl as it was being problematic and of course we had a boy so I'm saying nothing! Its interesting as most females will say a troublesome bump is a boy and vice-versa.

Its amazing what you can get done with that kind of motivation to get things finished. Ok we didn't get completely finished although thats mainly due to crap and unreliable builders.

Last night after a broken nights sleep and a full day at work I got home and went under the floors to bend the new radiator pipes round the joists so that they were ready for the carpet fitters. didn't connect to the system as I can do that aftrewards without worrying about the new carpets provided there are no leaks above ground of course ;)

Then took off the skirting boards in the new hall where we need to raise them as we raised the ones between the kitchen and garage and its all the same level. with teh carpets going down today it had to be done last nght. Searched online and found a local hire company that would do a Paslode nail gun for £23+vat for a day but let us pick it up yesterday afternoon and dont need to drop it off until tomorrow morning so get 2 evenings. Had to buy gas and nails which were an extra £20 but it allowed us to put the skirting boards in the hall back on quickly and also fix on the architraves round the bathroom door which were taken off to run wires to the light switch (which I'm not sure is allowed ).

MIL was sanding and painting around the landing and over the stairs and while it wont be perfect, at least thats the worst of it done before the carpet goes down.

OH sat in the car with little one while we nailed the skirtings back on as he was seriously unimpressed with the bangs!

This morning I got up and tried to screw down as may loose floor boards as I could find before work. unfortunately FIL had taken his cordless drill home so had to use my little black and decker one which is fine for a few screws but not up to this and not quick enough either as the carpet fitters turned up at 8:40am while I was still doing it. Definitely going to get a new cordless drill/driver this time (maybe need to wait for B'day/Santa though)

Tonight the back room is going to get its skirting boards put on with the nail gun as they are mostly cut and maybe see about cutting the last couple of bits to get the whole room done. but we dont have a comound mitre saw which could make that tricky.
Need to think about where the tv is going to go so I can raggle the wall behind the skirtings so its ready for the wires once we get to the that stage as I hate having to do that afterwards.

Also need to think about my network cable and where I'm going to put in points although that may have to happen after skirtings go on as I have a feeling we'll run out of time tonight and I want to make as much use of the nail gun as I can . Mind you as we've now got the gas and nails we can always hire it again once we are ready and it will only be ~£25.

Think hard and draw as many diagrams as necessary. :D I had a plan for where all my cable was coming from and going to, where the jacks were going and where the main connection point was going to be. I then ran 2 lengths of Cat 6 from each room to this point........and promptly changed my mind.:o I decided the main point should be in a different cupboard and started re -routing the cable, until I hit a few snags with the main electric cables and then went back to plan A. :rotfl:

I'd be dangerous if I could actually make decisions and stick to them.

Well the modem is in one cupboard and my router is going to live in there too so I know what the starting point is. I'm not interested in wiring the whole house for future AV use or anything daft like that - just want to connect to the router for internet access as OH isn't keen on wireless with the little one around. Going to put in a network point in back room (which is going to become a family room) and one upstairs in the small bedroom for my PC. Need to get round to ordering cable and sockets etc but want to make the holes in the wall now if I can. just need to decide where its going to go and cut the channel up to the top of the skirting board level.
