bb1984 - wow that looks brilliant! well done to you!! ... in addition to the gold radiator, we are also in proud posession of a LILAC one...if you can make use of it in your house you are more than welcome to it
:rotfl:
blue and mustard beats our red hands down, although I do think the painted yellow tiles 'meets' forest green is rather grim too
Tomsmum - there are some helpful threads on the special occasions board to get you re-inspired with crafts. i don't get much chance to do any at the moment, but once i've finished my college course and the house i'll have all the time in the world! hopefully! my 'study' in the new house is actually 'study/craftroom' but my OH doesnt know that yet!
Here is a pic of the garden in the stages we cut the conifers down... it is the only area we have made any real progress on up to now!!

Anyone got any rough ideas of a price for a plaster for total re-skim of a small 3bed semi?? The walls are a tiny bit bumpy..and I'm a perfectionist!
Our plastering has been included in the builder's total but LisaLou has had her house replastered. She's started another thread - I'll go and find it and come back with a link. She'll probably be able to give you an idea.
OK - here it is. She's also doing a blog if you want a looky-looky!0 -
Question- has anyone tiled over existing tiles? Our current ones are impossible to get off, just wanted to know if anyone had managed a good finish.:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0

No real updates here, only managed an hours painting on saturday morning but that just leaves the walls to be done.
Phoned the architect again and he claims the plans are progressing and he should be ready to come visit with them in 2 or 3 weeks. hopefully this time he has done as asked and not just his own thing like the last time. This is definitely the last chance though as we need to start making some progress and thats impossible until we have some plans.
think we might be doing the bathroom next once I've got the painting finished although I'll probably try and fit the skirting boards first. they should be arriving today or tomorrow at the timber yard and then we can arrange delivery.0 -
Road testing it tonight then are we? :rotfl:
Oh........... couldn't resist
Having a very innocent mind, I have no idea what you mean...! :A
Jamtart - we didn't have all our walls skimmed, just the ceilings, down the wall as far as the picture rails, and a few odd walls. I think as a very rough guide, for walls and ceilings you'd be looking at approx. £350 per average-sized room. Are you sure you can't live with the odd lump and bump?! Ours are a bit knocked about in places, but we say it's "character"...!
The carpet is a deep red, by the way - my camera battery has died so can't post a picture yet, you'll have to wait til this evening.

I've never tried, we've always got the old ones off. Hammer and bolster (and eye protection and gloves!) should get them off. Are they floor or wall tiles?0
