No diea sorry. I'm normally fairly sceptical about B&Q own brands due to past experience and hence I would probably buy something else. That doesn't mean its not any good though, purely my own opinion.
I did ask about underlay some months back but didn't get a lot of replies, Might be of some use.....

Ta daaaaaaa! Pics of my new wallpaper in the 2nd bedroom now up on my blog
That was what we did on Saturday - that plus painting all the skirting boards ready for the carpet man to come Friday (hopefully). Can't wait to get carpets!!! I'm gonna run around barefoot and roll on the floor :rotfl:"Live long, laugh often, love much"

Lovely wallpaper Beth. Did you decide what you're going to do with the window to obscure the view?
We've got a rule in our house - no outside shoes in the lounge (or other areas where there's a light carpet or you're fussy about the carpet). It's amazing what a difference it makes. No tracks worn from door to seats which we've had before, either from flattening, wear or dirt, and this carpet's been down about 3 or 4 years now.0 -
Thanks!
I have been thinking about that window a lot, and my current plan is to put a trellis or similar against the neighbour's wall, and grow a pretty climbing something-or-other up it. That way at least the view will be green!
However, I do have an alternative plan...there is currently the remains of what appears to be white paint on the neighbour's wall, right in front of my window. I think that in the past, someone may have painted it white with the aim of reflecting light into my room! Genius. I'd quite like to do the same, but I'm not sure about what the neighbour would think....am I entitled to do so? I suppose I should ask her and see what she says. She's an older lady and seems nice enough, so when the weather improves a bit and I see her out in the garden, I might invite her round for a cuppa, and broach the subject. I'm sure she'd enjoy having a nose inside the house too, see what we've been up to (I know I would!)
Good rule about the carpets - I think we'll do the same. I've always put my slippers on straight away anyway, but just because I love my slippers! I'm going to be very precious about our new carpets, but I'm not sure my family are going to be happy about kicking their shoes off when they come to visit....

Not sure about that but as it's your side wouldn't it be like a fence? You'd creosote (or whatever the modern equivalent is) to preserve it, so maybe you can paint a wall??????I suppose I should ask her and see what she says. I bet she'd love that. "Hello Elsie/Freda/whoever, I was just wondering if you'd like to see the changes we've made. Come and have a cuppa, I'd love to know what you think of ......" Then while she's in your house, take her to that bedroom, mention the view from the window and ask her how she'd brighten it up. Does she have a similar view from her room?but I'm not sure my family are going to be happy about kicking their shoes off when they come to visit....
YOUR house, YOUR rules. Is it a pale carpet - perfect excuse for the rule. Or be totally upfront - "Now, I'm going to be very particular about all the lovely new things in our new home, especially these lovely carpets that cost us an absolute fortune and have to last a million years. So I know you wont be offended if I ask you to remove your shoes - smelly feet accepted - or I can give you these covers to pop over your shoes if you'd prefer".
There are blue elasticated shoe covers which can be bought from (probably) DIY suppliers. Our son gave us some as he keeps a supply. Quite handy actually, and if you have tradesmen come in who need to keep shoes on for safety reasons but you don't want to risk them dirtying your floor, you could ask them to use them over their shoes.0 -

The whole idea got vetoed by the OH who, quite correctly, said it was madness to spend money on new underlay and carpet until we get the building work done. I did think about just getting the underlay and putting that down but didn't know whether it would survive being walked on.
Still intending to get our own, probably from the recommended site when the time comes.0 -

Where have some of our regulars gone? Haven't seen any posts from Andy or Helping Hubby lately. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms, I need an update fix :rotfl: . Shimmyhill's blog has been updated but again I can only see the first picture
.
Our builders are moving at a cracking pace now, have a look at what they've done over the last couple of days.
We ordered the tiles for the bathroom today, we went for classic rather than trendy/fashionable and have had beige marble and will look for a border soon. I found a 20% discount code for online orders for Wickes as to get the discount in store you had to spend £500 on a kitchen. Plus free delivery to the door so very happy with that deal. The jury's still out on flooring but it wont be carpet in the bathroom.
Come on renovators, let's hear what you've been doing (Beth, you're excused as you're already keeping us up to date and I'm following your blog).0 -
Not much has happened here, started new job last week so that took over !
We do have a full set of curtains in the dining room now instead of just oneand have done some jobs like filling holes in walls for when the cavity insulation comes in feb (3 waste pipes in kitchen and we took 2 out so just have the one that everything feeds into)
