Voucher for spa day/local beauty therapist. (Manicure £15 ish, massage £30-40 depends on where you live - check yellow pages)
Give her a handmade/computer printed voucher for a meal out for the 2 of you. Somewhere nice. Personal handmade vouchers are a great idea.
A magazine subscription - check out https://www.isubscribe.co.uk or http://www.qualitymagazines.co.uk/store/displaystore.asp?sid=1356
Perhaps Cosmo £24.98 for 1 year or Prima £17.49 a year. Just buy something relevant and preferably not Good Housekeeping unless you are sure this is something she buys/likes.
Gig tickets - but depends on her music tastes. Check out https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk
If she likes a certain singer/group check out their website and see if they have an online store of merchandise e.g. Jamie Cullum stuff at http://www.recordstore.co.uk/jamiecullum/
A Groovy Chocolate - https://www.groovychocolate.co.uk £9.95 + postage. Personalise the choc with your own message and they'll deliver it to your door. They are my personal faves.
https://www.hawkin.com for yes/no pillowcases. £8.99 and enter FP5 for free postage0 -
I'd like 1837online vouchers and a good way of presenting all the information I've gathered on my ancestors to my non-computerised relatives. :beer:0

Thing: In a lot of ways I agree with Lily the Pink - I like a bit of research done on my likes and dislikes - after all, I do that for everyone else. And just to really help out I always have a think before my birthday and Christmas and list dvds and cds I've held off on buying for myself plus the best shops to pick for vouchers (because I'm a bit of a butterfly with favourites). I do sometimes worry I've taken a bit of the romance out of pressie giving by doing this steering, but my more pragmatic side thinks it's been a helpful training curve!
Bargain Price: Go through rpoints (or similar) to check prices on Kelkoo, Pricerunner etc. Save Piggypoints to get some discounts. Rejoice in spending your Boots points on yourself rather than on me because I won't have listed toiletries!
Cheapest place to get it: The price comparison sites might give you a nice surprise - or probably it'll be Play.com or CDWow or Bol.com
Who it's suitable for: Me! It's my list
Any other info: It has been quite helpful to draw up lists as other family members do it now too. Also my husband doesn't automatically buy DVDs as he sees them anymore - he decides if they're urgent or potential presents - and we're better off.Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -

Great idea, and get a really nice album to put them in, and put them in! It makes all the difference.
If you have kids, a few copies of the best ones to give to grandparents is nice too.0 -
Here's an idea; it's what I always prefer, but make sure you know what her favourite shop is and get a couple of well-chosen small gifts as well to show you're not just being lazy...
Thing: Gift vouchers for her favourite shop.
Bargain Price: The bargain comes afterwards... she can spend them in the sales and get up to twice as much stuff as you could have bought her with cash before xmas.
Who it's suitable for: Anyone who has a favorite shop, especially if you know there's stuff in stock she wants and / or you know she's short on cash to spend on herself. Not suitable for those few women who hate shopping!
Any other info: As I mentioned before, don't just buy vouchers for a random store - you have to be sure they'll be appreciated.0 -
ailuro2 wrote:Thing: The Chronicles of Narnia in one volume. A big beautiful book that will also be shared with my 7 y.o. dd

Thing: Make up lesson
Bargain Price: £69
Cheapest place to get it: https://www.absolutelybeautiful.tk
Who it's suitable for: Women (and trannies :-) )
Any other info:I am going to get my wife a make up lesson. There was an article on the paper last week recommending a company that send a make up artist to your house to teach you a make up lesson for £69 but if you go to their place the lesson is only £49. My wife has always wanted a make up lesson because she says she is hopeless with make up. I think this will make a good and original present.0 -
Good Things:
Books, DVDs, CDs, Electronic items, Computer and Console Games...
( I want Call of Duty 2 for PC - yes there are women who like to play games!)...but these must be asked about before buying as tastes (and machines) are subjective, as well as possibly being already owned.
Use at least a couple of price comparison sites like Gamestracker.com ; 123pricecheck.com ; dvdpricecheck.co.uk . Google some more of them.
Several people can contribute towards a longed-for item i.e. a cashmere jumper https://www.mypashmina.com or a pair of high boots or a DVD Recorder etc.
Bad Things:
Tacky toiletries in a box/bag/whatever. Yuk!
Anything fluffy or cutesy..... why would anyone over the age of 3 want it? (unless it's a live animal ... & Xmas isn't the proper time for getting one anyway).
Underwear and sleepwear...No in so many ways. Especially with awful slogans or pictures on it.
Useless cr*p "fun" gadgets.
Anything housework related. We are not servants.
(I often wonder if any man really really wants the oft-advertised tools/ drill/workbench/sander ?? Not to mention the socks and ties..... poor sods).
It's always better to ask what is wanted rather than your gifts ending up on Ebay after New Year.0 -
THING - JEWELLERY- beautiful mother of pearl pieces - they have lots of other bits too, but the mother of pearl is leagues ahead any other I have seen
Some quite funky cord bits too
WHO FOR - All ladies and any age I think
PRICE - £15 - £50 - depends what piece you want really!
WHERE - I found that if you go to their homepage https://www.agsilver.co.uk you can find a stockist near you. And there are some pictures too. I love their stuff and women love jewellery!!!0 -
Why not arrange for a Virgin Cosmetics consultant to come round and do a one-to-one makeover? Most of them will do it for nothing if you buy a gift voucher for your wife to use to buy at the makeover. I know this because my wife is a consultant. You can find a local one using www.virgincosmetics.com
Could save you £69 less the voucher you buy.
