Joint membership at the the National Trust £47.62 if you pay by direct debit = 3 months free. Limitless quality time with Mum!! A present appreciated not just at Christmas but for a full 12 months - can't say fairer than that. And no I don't work for the National Trust

Thing: Favourite DVD..in my case U2, Desperate housewives, Jacques Tati films
Bargain Price: £13.99-£29.99
Cheapest place to get it: Tesco's, Asda, Amazon, HMV
Who it's suitable for: Any fans of the above
Any other info: Get something just for her, not a "family film", so she feels spoilt and pampered. If ordering from Amazon do it through a points building site such as Nectar, etc to make a bit more of a saving.0 -
I want
a copy of untold stories by Alan Bennett,
Bob Dylan DVD
some bits and pieces from Neals Yard (too expensive to justify normally), http://www.nealsyardremedies.com/shop/bin/pxisapi1.exe/catalogue?level=1248
if not Neals Yard then one of those sets you see in the cosmetic counters (Lancome would do but would prefer something a bit different - Aveda, prada, Molton Brown) - Neals yard is a cheaper (ahem) option - or better value. Philosophy is good too. http://www.johnlewis.com/Gifts+and+Flowers/Gifts+for+Her/Health+and+Beauty/Gift+Sets/ProductType.aspx (there is a £10 off a £50 spend on one of the other boards).
a day to myself,
a spa treatment, for example http://www.lastminute.com/lmn/pso/catalog/Product.jhtml?POSITION=1&PRODID=385322125&CATID=99141
a really good perfumed candle - but has to be very exclusive. You can get these ones in TK Maxx a lot cheaper. http://www.johnlewis.com/Home+and+Garden/Decorative+Accessories/Decorative+Accessories/Candles/230220994/Product.aspx
some new pyjamas - long sleeved, cotten shirt type ones that are difficult to find, pastel blue or tasteful stripes - unfortunately my mother in law always buys me cutie type ones (but not sexy and 2 sizes too large even before I lost weight) with teddy bears on. My OH says that it is better than viyella or winsyette ones that she has bought his girlfriends in the past). I hate sleeping in anything but cotton (or pure silk).
Some really nice really good chocolates -
Otherwise there are various ideas on http://www.handbag.com/fashion/christmasshopping/
Dont buy me
socks
slippers eg: http://www.johnlewis.com/Lingerie+and+Nightwear/Lingerie+and+Nightwear/Nightwear/Slippers/4256/Product.aspx
underwear with cuty things on
anything else with cuty things on - cups, tshirts
http://www.johnlewis.com/Lingerie+and+Nightwear/Lingerie+and+Nightwear/Nightwear/Pyjamas/4207/Product.aspx
cadburys or nestle chocolates
bits and pieces from the body shop - I dont like most of their products now.
bits and pieces from boots - Santuary products are acceptable though (on 2 for 1 at the moment)
any other DVD apart from Bob Dylan
Elizabeth Duke jewellrey
gift vouchers unless for spa day0 -

a bottle of champagne were it not that I had a case from tesco as it was half price! Cava would do and thats cheap in Iceland or tesco.
a box of chocs (delivered by a man on skis in a black polo neck so much the better) (leicester market - you can get a nice one for a couple of quid)
a freezer full of meat, for example half a lamb, or else some game such as venison or pigeons. Pigeons are about £1.50 each, half a lamb is about £30 to £40.
I don't really want many 'things' though the prodigy cd is on my list, and the white stripes cd.
I'm off to Leicester market to buy my own pressie - a man on skis - a nice one for a couple of quid!
GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Who it's suitable for: Kids up to adults
Any other info. A nice tie in would be tickets to see the film, which comes out on Dec 8th
This is all I want for Christmas that's under 75 quid.
Made sure I got the new oven before Christmas, so it can't be a Crimbo offering.
I also want a laser pen for hair removal, but will wait for the January sales to get it for under 75 pounds. :money:
Top tip for blokes - no cheap, tacky underwear, or any clothes made of latex- don't men think Christmas is busy enough for us mums without putting more demands on our time? :rolleyes:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
Balance 19th April '07 = minus £27,640
Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.0 -

I thought that sounded a good idea, but having just done a bit of research it sounds like they really don't work. Have a look at https://www.hairfacts.com0 -
I want all our digital holiday photos printed so I can look through them the good old-fashioned way and enjoy the memories!0
