If your neck pains are related to your car crash are you claiming compensation? I'm not one for the 'compensation culture', but you are the innocent victim here - and it is affecting your life...
Pity you can't go running in your sleep if you see what I mean. I know I keep putting it off, but I really need to get out there and start running again. I love being out at this time of year strangely enough.
Yes, I'm up early (even for me) - just trying to get some work done while it's nice and quiet. Obviously, I'm only posting on here during the gaps...Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
*hands tea over, with a bagel as well*
I didn't really proceed with the compensation for fear of not being believed and/or for fear of people thinking I had seen it as a way of getting money when I quite obviously have so much debt.
However, depending on what the doctor says this afternoon, I may have to dig out the old paperwork. To be honest, when I saw the insurance company doctor some time ago, I got the impression he thought we were all a bunch of con artists, and he was supposed to be on my side! So on that basis I gave up. I didn't officially say I don't want to claim, just didn't do any more about it, so I suppose I could probably pick it up again.
I have to say, though, that the pain I am in now is quite possibly greater than it was immediately after the accident. Not good, and I need to get it sorted.

mmm, bagel - now you're talking...
yes, it is a bit annoying that claiming compensation these days makes you feel like you're trying to scam the system. Maybe see it not from the money perspective, but that you may need potentially expensive treatment to sort it out.
Maybe you can tell me more about guided visualisation one dayOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0 -
I know people who I KNOW have claimed compensation for whiplash injuries that either don't exist, or which miraculously cleared up after payment was received. This really gets my goat because it is because of people like them that I didn't claim for what is a genuine injury.
Oh well, it is the way of the world we live in I suppose. Annoyingly, I now have bupa cover through work, but won't be able to get bupa physio because it is for an injury which I sustained before the policy started.
I have done my daily scratchcards - nothing more than 10p today.......and checked online banking - no horrors, but no surprise "deposits" either (we can live in hope!).
But I would like to announce that this is the third month in a row that we have not incurred bank charges! November will be tight but I am hoping to make that 4.........:D It certainly makes a difference not having that spiralling effect of charges being applied to the account.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Morning Hypno,
Sorry that you're not feeling too great because of your injury. Not had whiplash myself but can sympathise re the not wanting to claim for fear of not being believed, I can't abide people that take the pee out of the system as it causes distress to people like you that genuinely need it.
Hope that the doctor can sort you out tonight.

Yay! Well done on the no-charge-months - that's got to make a difference.
I think we could all do with the odd surprise deposit into our accountsI suppose that's the difference between visualising and fantasising?

Hypno, I didn't realise you hadn't claimed! You really have to - you need that money for physio, obviously.
Sleeping .... I was up at 6am too, tho I've only just put the computer on .... first cup of coffee is downed, and some butterbeans I soaked overnight are now in the slow cooker. I'm thinking this is nature's way of telling me to have a siesta in the afternoon so that I can be up and chirpy for 8am when the markets open so I can trade, and do the "if .... then" stuff that will lead to trading. Don't *feel* terribly chirpy, but we'll see!
I hope you don't have too much pain today, but I'm glad you're going to see the doctor today.
Well done on the bank charges avoidance! What's the situation with the egg loan now, is the monthly repayment going down because of the overpayments you're making, or does it stick at what it is?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Right, you would think that as I have been up for hours, I would be ready to go to work much earlier than normal.
But NO, I am sat here in my pj's, and need to leave the house in 15mins - haven't made my packed lunch, haven't yet had a shower, etc!
But I HAVE caught up on a few threads on here, so that must be a constructive use of the extra time I found myself with, surely:rotfl:
Re my egg loan, they have given me the option of reducing the monthly payments as the balance goes down, which would keep the end date of the loan the same, or I can stick with the same monthly payments and pay it off quicker.
So, with the snowball principle firmly in mind, I am sticking with the normal monthly payments and hoping to bring the clearance date forward, but obviously if things get tighter eg if one of us loses a job or something unforeseen happens with the car etc, then we have the option of reducing the rest of the payments and having a little less to find each month.

Well the packed lunch never made it - I had to drop the children off at a friend's house on the way to work as well, so something had to go.
It was a close call between making lunch and getting dressed.......thankfully my fuddled brain made the right decision (I think......*checks clothes are on the right way round*)Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
