    Hi Hypno
I think you will appreciate the relaxed attitude this month. Good luck with the decluttering. I was REALLY  with OH for saying on the phone that our house was a tip. Well it chuffing is but ONLY because he hasn't unpacked HIS chuffing boxes. GRRROWWWL!

    Walshy - Norwich v Derby........we lost......again

Seaxwyn, I feel an obligation to the student, who pays us to be here, to have the house warm - she has been visibly chilly these last few days and has already piled on the layers! Otherwise, I would be resisting a little longer in the interests of keeping the bills down!

chev - re decluttering.....I have this vision, that I get a skip in, and basically tell everyone in the house that they have an hour to save what they want to keep, and everything else goes in the skip! Sort of "if the house were on fire, what would you save......" type exercise.

My second, slightly less drastic, option is to box everything up in removal boxes, as if we were moving house, and stack it in the shed/conservatory/garage/etc and write the date on the box. If it remains unopened in 6 months time, that box goes in the bin.........lock, stock and barrel........

I have managed to get DS a lift to the ski race today, so that will save us a bit in petrol money. DD will be doing his paper-round again today, although the weather is FOUL so she will certainly be earning her money! I have a client in later this morning, so £30 there to add to the pot, and I suspect OH will be dozing on and off all day as this is his first day without working for a very long time!

Have a good day everyone x

    Good morning hypno et al!

 the first thing I did on getting to the end of the thread was make my coffee (of course) and then switch the gas fire off :o first time I've had it on in the morning, but I have done well in the last couple of months, honest - I went into the summer months with a deficit to my gas supplier, and by the time I changed supplier last month, I had a surplus.

I'd love to declutter - there is a lot of techno junk in the garage that should be taken to the proper area of the household tip, but I need to shanghai a mate with a car to do that. And a lot of the rest of it, I either need to list it on Amazon, or try out the new-to-me ebid.

Hypno, I bet your OH is shattered, seems like he's been working for ever. And I never thought about the heating in relation to the student, you're right, of course. I've just been putting it on for an hour in the evening, before that I was fighting off a chill, it wasn't nice. An hour of gas isn't worth being ill over!

Today - I suspect the heating will be on and off, actually, and since I'm going to a friend's this evening, I'm going to put the slow cooker on this afternoon, which will keep the living room warm. I might need a snooze too, as I had some horrendous travel problems yesterday, on not much sleep, tho the end of the journey was pretty good.

Hope you're not doing too much today, apart from the client - snooze with the OH perhaps? Anyway, hope its a good one for you.

Have just woken up, made a hot honey and lemon and am contemplating going back to bed. Throat hurts and I'm dead tired - appart from that everything is rosy !!!!!!.

Hope everyone has a good day - glad you managed to find a lift for DS Hypno - that will save you some time and petrol. I never seemed to have that happen when mine where competeing, usuually because I had to be coach on poolside so had to be there too.

Heating came on for a couple of hours and will go back on at 4 unless DD and I get frozen!!!

    Have a good day

Hi P, I have not yet investigated Music Magpie - first of all, I have to play the "find the correct disc for the case" game. You know the one, U2 is in the case for the Beegees, The Beegees is in the case for McFly, and McFly is in the case for "music to do yoga by"..........:o
