GRRRR  Bloomin OHs eh? Mine is just the same. It was his payday today and he thinks he's rich - I had to remind him that all this money is spoken for and doesn't mean he can buy crab pate for a luxury snack!
OH is just the same! We both get paid on the same day... Payday means he can buy everyone at work pizza or go out on Fri/Sat night and Sun daytime.... Payday means I can allocate all my different pots money then pay of debts and plan for the month....
Do you think they will ever get it?

I KNEW you would all understand! Thank you for letting me rant! Of course, he just sees it as "well you always pay the whole lot off at the end of the month, so it won't really cost much more".......NOT THE POINT MISTER!!!!!

Anyway......I did go for my run, and whether I am getting fitter, or whether said frustration at OH did the trick I don't know, but I was much faster - and actually went faster each mile that I did!!!!! Each mile was quicker than the previous mile, with the last mile being done a minute quicker than the first one!! Total 4.07 miles (yes, the .07 is really important) in 41:19 :D

I could kid myself that I am getting fitter - but the reality is more likely that I was pounding the streets in anger

If that behaviour has no personal consequences for *him* since you go that extra mile to "cover up" for it - why should he "get it"?

  • Hi Hypno

I'm not surprised you were  at your OH! My OH used to do that all the time (until I confiscated his credit card) and it used to drive me insane!

  • A very good point Z, and I get stuck between standing my ground and let him suffer, and giving in for a quiet life.... :o
At the minute I'm in the 'letting him suffer' stage because I am skint too! But I am getting better, and to be fair, he is a little bit too.... Just not a fast as I would have hoped!

He would get better faster the more he suffered... ;)

Now, I can't "let him suffer" really, for lots of reasons. For example

    1) he doesn't generally make mistakes like this.....so perhaps I am being a little harsh in being so cross (or perhaps not!)

    2) he works so bloody hard, doing 3 jobs, he more than pulls his weight in the "debt repayment programme" that I have got marked out for the next couple of years.

    3) if I left him to it to teach him a lesson, it impacts on our joint financial position......so rather than him being the one to suffer, I would suffer from the stress. Not to mention the fact that I would be even further away from moving to my dream house!

So it's not just a case of wanting a quiet life.......I just want rid of the debt and to be sorted, and the best way of doing that is to basically be in charge of the money, which works well most of the time, and I suppose if £10 from a cash machine is the worst that happens.....well, it is better than dealing with Egg.......
