I would also like to say if you do take it back complaining about the speed of the SSD then be aware they may throw back in your face that SSD is actually faster (in most cases) than a conventional HDIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
I have no issue with the OP level of intelligence, I’m useless with technology, but there are ways to get a point across with being abusive, in fact, being abusive only confirms the individuals own level of intelligence.
Conor is quite knowledgeble and very rarley have I seen him blow off like this (i may be wrong there but I dont stalk all conors threads). But he is correct in what he said.

well i wasn't teaching him and i wasn't giving him an order.......i was suggesting......
SUGGESTING is not a criminal offence
Now i've actually paid attention to his post, i would SUGGEST that he try and use the "unfit for purpose" as he needed something that writes to the HD FAST (which in this case the SSD obviously doesn't)
Or is that a criminal offence to???
So sorry you law abiding person you (thats TWO of you on this site)
Im afraid you are wrong look at definition 2. you were directing him to goto comet, lie about the said item purchased.
Wether or not you misread the OPs original thread is neither here or there, its the fact your recommending someone comit fraud and then saying "It will be OK", which is ok for you as your not the one doing it.
If Im not one of the Law abiding persons mentioned in your post, make that THREE.
Again, I would take it back to Comet tell them its not what you expected, they may be accomodating, especially if your nice about it.
I bought a laptop from PC world a few years back, and the DVD Tray cracked within a few days of purchase. I took it back, was very nice to them, told them the problem, I waited around (helped an old couple who were having difficulties getting the most out of there laptop while I waited), told the staff not to worry about it when they apologised for the long wait. New laptop came out, and was told to pick £25 worth of goods from the shelves as a good will gesture for being patient and helping the old couple.
Sometimes being nice pays off. There was no lies no deciet, no acusations of incompetence. Just an hour of my time."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

You can't AFAIK. It uses a SSD which isn't the same size as a normal 2.5" lappy.
What you can do is to put in a memory card though. That would have the added benefit of making it dead easy to move your documents and media files from one machine to another.
At the end of the day though, these netbooks aren't about performance. They're about portability and battery life and that means sacrificing speed. It looks like you bought one thinking it was a cheap laptop. Although there's some feature creep, they're a different category of computer.
nah you can fit a 1.8" zif hd into it which im guna have to do now cus they said no lol. i already have a 1gb of ram on its way, only £11the performance can actually be pretty good and can like said run dvd's etc. the only problem with the 8gb hd is that the write speed is soooo slow, like 5mb/s. so im going to change it, seems an easy change jus gotta find a gd hd first. Thanks for your help guys

Comet's return policy allows you to exchange goods where you have opened the box but not used the goods. I'd be tempted to return the laptop to its original state, but be honest with the salesperson and explain what you've done and that you want to exchange for a more expensive model (paying the difference) and see if they go for it.
Things you've bought in store.
If your product is brand new, unused and the box is unopened then all you do is take it back to a comet store within 28 days (14 days for a computer) and we'll give you either a full refund or a gift card to the same value - it's up to you.
Don't forget to take your receipt along.
If the product is too big to easily take to the store just call our customer care people on 08705 425 425 and we'll arrange a collection (charges apply).
If the product is brand new, unused and the box is opened then the process is almost the same except that, for products costing £25 or more, we deduct a restocking fee (10% of the original price up to a maximum of £99) from your refund to cover the cost of repackaging and restocking.
Alternatively you can choose a gift card credit for the full purchase price.
Remember to return all the original packaging.
One more thing - we can't accept the return of any product with missing parts such as remote control, leads or manuals, so make sure you hang on to everything that came with your product. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

Knowledgeable or not, still no reason to be disrespectful, Conor seems to have a habit of blowing off, he's had his fair share of run ins in the “DFW” forum, I'm always amazed why people blow a gasket just because they don't like what they read on a computer screen, it's not healthy, it really isn't, just my opinion though, you can't beat a bit of self control.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
